I watched from the shadows as Kate pulled up in her beat-up sedan, parking it sloppily in the driveway like she owned the damn place.
She stepped out, all confident and clueless, heading straight for the front door. Isabella and I had been tailing her for hours, waiting for the right moment. As she slipped inside, we followed quietly, the door creaking just enough to make her pause.
She turned sharp, her eyes narrowing on me first. "What do you want?" Kate snapped, her voice low and edged with that familiar venom.
I stepped closer, feeling the anger bubble up. "Why'd you come out from your hidden forgotten place?" I shot back, not bothering to hide the disgust.
Kate crossed her arms, tilting her head. "Who the hell are you to question me?"
I smirked, but it wasn't friendly. "Did you know everything that's happening is your fault?"
"How?" she demanded, her tone challenging, like she dared me to explain.
