Synopsis
After trashing the ending of his favorite zombie apocalypse manhwa, Ryan wakes up inside its world—reborn as a background character just days before everything falls apart. The plot still centers around Muchiro Yu, the story’s original protagonist. The lucky encounters, weapons, and survival moments? They all go to him. Ryan? He's left to rot on the sidelines. But this time, Ryan refuses to follow the script. Armed with his knowledge of the story—and a grudge against the author who challenged him—Ryan is determined to survive on his own terms. He won’t play the hero, the sidekick, or the victim. He’ll find another path. One that proves he can survive better than Yu. Smarter. Harder. His way. Because this isn’t just a fight against zombies. It’s a fight against fate. And the Author is watching. This isn’t your Typical Zombie Apocalypse.

Chapter 1 - Episode 1.1 This Is Just The Start

Absolutely! Here's the updated version with Rin being dragged into the chaos instead of weirdly agreeing. This version keeps the urgency high and adds more resistance and confusion from Rin while Ryan takes charge.

"The hell with that!"

Ryan hurled his phone across the room. It bounced harmlessly off his pillow and thudded against the wall.

He sat up, scowling. His favorite zombie apocalypse story had just ended—and it sucked.

"Muchiro Yu smokes his last cigarette and just gives up? What kind of crap ending is that?" Ryan shouted at the ceiling. "All this build-up, and for what? To get torn apart like a background character? Rotting meat, and you lose to it? Trash!"

He grabbed his phone, furiously typing into the comment section:

[This started off amazing and died like garbage. Who writes a badass survivor just to kill him off like a rookie? Total disappointment.]

He collapsed back onto the bed, still fuming, and slowly drifted to sleep with a frustrated sigh.

TING! ×509

Ryan's phone buzzed violently, lighting up with dozens of notifications.

Bleary-eyed, he peeked at the screen.

Comments flooded in, most agreeing with his rant. But one reply stopped him cold.

[ Author: Oh, I see… Then let's see if you can do better.]

Before he could blink, darkness swallowed him.

Pain. Headache. Noise.

Ryan's eyes shot open. He was sitting at a desk. In a classroom.

Voices buzzed around him. Students talked, laughed, moved chairs.

"What… the hell?" he muttered, groggy.

A nearby student looked at him with a smirk. "That's what you get for drinking all night, dumbass."

Ryan sat up straighter. His clothes felt wrong his uniform wasn't his.

He glanced down at his desk. A note lay there in messy handwriting.

[Let's see if you can do better.]

—Author

His breath hitched.

He looked around more carefully now.

No… this can't be. The posters, the school crest, the color of the uniform...

This is Muchiro Yu's school. This is the story.

"Hey!" he barked at the student behind him. "What's the date today?"

"November 10th. Why?"

Ryan's heart dropped. That was the day. The outbreak.

He leapt out of his seat, ignoring the confused looks, and rushed toward the hallway window.

From there, he spotted the opposite building. His stomach twisted.

"Good… good. That's where Yu starts. Not here. I've got time."

"Time for what?"

A voice popped up beside him again. He turned to see a guy with glasses standing awkwardly close.

"Holy crap! Where did you come from?!"

"Rin. Suzune Rin. You owe me 300 yen."

"What?! No, I don't!"

"So who's Yu? Is that from a manga? A manhwa?"

"None of your business!" Ryan snapped, already turning toward the classroom.

"Okay, geez…" Rin muttered, following behind.

Ryan stopped at the door. "Rin, listen. You need to tell the teacher to evacuate the whole school. Open the front gates. Get people out now."

"What are you.."

Ryan cut him off. "There's a disaster coming. A big one. Trust me."

His eyes caught movement across the yard. A student in the opposite building was convulsing eyes blank, mouth drooling, skin paling.

Too late.

"Shit." He turned to Rin again. "Quick do we have good grades?"

"No? We're barely hanging on."

"Perfect." Ryan grabbed Rin by the collar and yanked him out the door. "We're skipping class."

"What?! Wait let go! Hey!"

"Shut up and move!"

Rin tried to pull back. "Are you insane?! Where are we even going?!"

"Somewhere that won't be crawling with corpses in ten minutes."

"You're not even making sense!"

They charged down the stairs, Rin stumbling behind him, half-pulled, half-running.

"This is kidnapping!"

"It's saving your life!"

---

Once they reached the lower level, Rin finally yanked his arm free. "Okay, enough! Who even are you? You've been acting like a lunatic since morning."

Ryan paused, catching his breath.

"You're not the guy I know," Rin said, watching him warily. "You don't even remember your own name."

Ryan sighed. "You're right. I'm not him."

"So… what, are you possessed or something? Like in those weird webtoons?"

"Kind of," Ryan said. "But this isn't some romantic comedy."

Just then, the school's alarm blared.

[Attention all students: If you see anyone acting strange, evacuate immediately. There is a ~bzzt~ ]

The announcement cut off with a burst of static.

Ryan looked at Rin. "This is a zombie story."

And then BOOM!

An explosion rocked the school. Screams echoed from outside.

"The apocalypse had arrived"
