MHGA Chapter 230 – Give It Your All, David!

As he was hurled out the window, rapidly plummeting toward the ground under gravity's pull, David realized what had just happened.
Adam Smasher had activated Sandevistan the moment David started speaking. He didn't even use a gun—he just punched him in the gut, seemingly intending to let David fall to his death.
If… Adam Smasher had aimed for his head instead, he'd probably be dead already.
Unless he had a body like Kairo Retsu and the others—capable of brawling monsters barehanded—there was no way he could survive that.
Kairo was absolutely right. David might not be a match for Adam Smasher right now… but that didn't mean he had no way to fight back!
"AHHHHHHHHH—!"
David let out a furious roar mid-air. The Sandevistan installed on his back surged to full power, pulling him into that decelerated world.
He angled the Gunlance behind him. The shell inside ignited with a blast, propelling him upward and sending him soaring back into the penthouse suite.
"Adam Smasher! I'M YOUR OPPONENT!!" David shouted in fury as he charged at Smasher, locked in the slowed-down world of Sandevistan.
Adam Smasher, who had assumed the kid was already dealt with, raised his smart gun for the first time when he saw the strange weapon-wielding freak flying back up again.
Now fully certain that Arasaka Raizen was nowhere to be found in the penthouse, Adam Smasher had no reservations left. After transmitting Raizen's disappearance to Arasaka, he was now fully committed to tearing this guy and his crew to pieces—just like he had crushed countless so-called "legends" before.
A massive shell exploded in the suite, shattering all surrounding windows and even shaking the floors below with its blast.
In his ears, the slow-motion scream was still echoing. Adam Smasher thought the insignificant little worm was surely dead in that explosion.
But his military-grade cybernetic eye was still picking up David's body in the smoke.
Worse—his sensors confirmed David's Sandevistan was still running at full capacity.
This short, scrawny punk… was charging him full-throttle with an active Sandevistan.
The provocative act awakened Adam Smasher's thirst for violence.
"FINE, I'LL PLAY WITH YOU!!" Smasher lifted his customized smart firearm—his signature "Eight-Star Gun." His cybernetic legs kicked into overdrive…
The two combatants, both with strength far exceeding any normal human, clashed within the smoke.
Adam Smasher's punch slammed into David's shield.
The tremendous mechanical force traveled through the shield into David's arm and shoulder, numbing his whole shoulder for a moment.
But… he endured it.
A kid who had once been just a broke student without a single implant—took Adam Smasher's attack head-on.
"You're not… as strong as I thought!!"
The moment David shouted this, both he and Adam Smasher fired simultaneously.
A full burst from the Gunlance, and a point-blank explosive shell from Smasher—collided in the same instant.
The resulting detonation rocked the top of the Konpeki Plaza, sending up thick smoke as shattered glass cascaded down toward the streets.
Meanwhile, inside the building, security forces who had received the alert rushed into the hacker's room—hoping to capture the person interfering with the Konpeki Plaza's system.
But when the armed guards burst in, all they found was an unconscious hacker on the floor.
"Damn it! They've already escaped!" the squad leader cursed, barking orders: "Search the entire building! Don't let them get out! If we lose them, we're all screwed!! That's Arasaka Raizen we're talking about!!!!!!!!!"
Some of the guards stayed behind to work on the compromised system, while the others fanned out, calling for reinforcements and initiating a full lockdown.
But none of them noticed…
In the corner of the room, Kazuma was crouched in stealth mode, hiding with Joseph and V in the shadows. Joseph's Hermit Purple was still plugged into the system.
V clutched her mouth, wide-eyed in terror.
Those guards had stormed into the room and passed within half a meter of the three of them.
Their butts had practically brushed up against them while turning.
And yet—they still hadn't noticed them.
What kind of tech was this?! So ridiculously overpowered!?
Once the guards left, Kazuma snuck up behind the technician trying to debug the system and delivered a perfect stealth attack, knocking him out cold—right in front of V.
"Alright! Joseph, let's keep going!" Kazuma gave a thumbs-up.
"Yeah!!" Joseph resumed controlling the building's systems through Hermit Purple.
V, watching the two of them in action, felt her entire body go numb.
What the hell kind of implants did these two have? They were insanely strong… it was like actual superpowers or magic.
Outside, V could vaguely hear more and more explosions. She was completely confused—what on earth was going on out there? Why were there such huge blasts?
Could it be that heavy artillery was being used to wipe out Kairo and his crew?
As V stood there in the hacker room, trying to make sense of things, elsewhere Jackie was staring at the top floor of the building—now erupting in flames—muttering a string of curses.
"Shit! That's Adam Smasher, right?! That full-body cyber psycho—the legend among legends… the guy who's killed the most legends in all of Night City!"
"Damn! He's actually fighting now… who's he up against?"
Jackie pressed himself to the window, eyes wide as dinner plates.
"Bro! You're badass too, right?" Jackie turned to Rakuro Hizutome beside him, eyes blazing.
"Not sure… but I really wanna give it a shot!" Rakuro said enviously, staring at the explosions still lighting up the sky outside. "I wonder how strong Adam Smasher really is…"
"ADAM SMASHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
At that moment, David—still using the Gunlance's recoil to accelerate himself throughout the ruined penthouse—was feeling completely drained.
Ever since activating Sandevistan, he hadn't deactivated it once.
And even in this slowed world, Adam Smasher still outpaced him.
"Interesting little punk… but—this is as far as you go!"
Even mid-battle, Adam Smasher had the bandwidth to taunt him.
The destruction they were causing had completely demolished the top floor suite of the building, and even the floors below were suffering heavy structural damage…
"Listen up, kid!" Adam Smasher accelerated again in Sandevistan. "I'm the special one here!!"
