Snape carefully walked over to the Basilisk, his wand pointed at its eyes. Victor, seeing this, immediately reminded him, "Professor Snape, don't worry! I blinded the Basilisk at the very beginning, so you don't have to be concerned about its eyes."
Hearing this, Snape relaxed a little. He knelt down and touched the scales on the Basilisk's body, then leaned in and put his ear against its body, as if listening to something.
"Professor Snape, what are you doing?" Victor asked, confused.
"Just confirming something. It's dying," Snape said, his face expressionless.
"WHAT?!!!" Hearing Snape's words, Victor instantly screamed, then flew over to the Basilisk at a speed invisible to the naked eye, immediately turning on his "X-Ray Vision" to check it. He saw that inside the Basilisk's body, its heart and other internal organs had ruptured, and there was a large amount of internal bleeding. If a person had these injuries, they would have been dead long ago!
It was over! He hit it too hard! He had been holding back his strength the entire time! How could he have almost killed the Basilisk?! No, he couldn't let it die after all his hard work in the filthy pipes!
Victor immediately began to cast Sky Magic, and at the same time, he couldn't help but shout, "Damn it! Big guy, please don't die! You're the final exam I prepared for the young Ravenclaws! I can't find a better practical subject than you in the entire Forbidden Forest!"
The young wizards not far away naturally heard Victor's cry.
"Young Ravenclaws"?
Did he mean the Ravenclaw students? Everyone subconsciously looked at the Ravenclaws. They saw that all the Ravenclaws' faces turned pale upon hearing what Victor had just said. It was as if they had been looked at by the Basilisk through some kind of medium; they were instantly petrified and frozen in place.
What did he just say? This gigantic monster is our final exam? He must be joking?! It must be a joke!
You disgusting snake, die already! Don't let that beast save you!!!
And just as the young Ravenclaws were going crazy in their hearts, the cry of a phoenix came from the air, and Fawkes brought Dumbledore back from the Ministry of Magic.
Early that morning, Dumbledore had a hunch that the Ministry of Magic's large-scale crackdown on Dark magic objects might be related to Voldemort's Horcrux sneaking into the school, so he went to the Ministry of Magic to gather information.
But he didn't expect to suddenly receive news that a gigantic Basilisk had appeared at Hogwarts while he was halfway through his investigation. So he immediately left the Ministry of Magic and rushed back. It was a good thing he brought Fawkes with him, as he was faster than the Ministry of Magic personnel who would arrive later.
"Everyone, go back to your dorms immediately. Don't come out without a professor's instruction!" Dumbledore ordered as soon as he landed. The young wizards were all very reluctant to obey. They all wanted to get a closer look at what the Basilisk looked like!
However, they felt that it might not be a good idea to stay here, given the headmaster's tone, so they could only obediently walk back to their dorms, looking back every few steps. The petrified Ravenclaws were dragged away by the Hufflepuffs…
"Phew~ luckily, it's not dead!" Meanwhile, on the other side, Victor breathed a sigh of relief. It was a good thing he treated it in time, or the Basilisk might not have been saved even a minute later.
Dumbledore walked over, looked at the Basilisk on the ground, and rubbed his aching head. "Victor, you didn't tell me you were going to solve the Basilisk problem this way last night! The people from the Ministry of Magic are on their way. They'll be here in a few minutes. We must deal with this Basilisk and come up with a suitable reason to appease them before they arrive! Otherwise, the Ministry of Magic will use various 'dangers' as an excuse to impose various conditions on Hogwarts and interfere with the management of the school."
"Is that all?!" Upon hearing this question, Victor looked at him with disdain and said, "What kind of problem is that? Just watch me go over and cast a powerful Memory Charm on each of them!"
With that, he rolled up his sleeves, ready to greet the "guests" who were about to arrive.
The professors on the scene immediately had black lines on their faces when they heard this. To be honest, they had seen many things in their decades of life, but they had never seen a young wizard as bold and reckless as Victor.
"Victor, this is no time for jokes," Dumbledore immediately stopped Victor, who was about to go and block the Ministry of Magic personnel. He said with a headache, "Even if you cast the Memory Charm on the people from the Ministry of Magic, the Basilisk incident is known to more than just the people who are coming! The news was passed on by the portraits of Hogwarts through the people in the Ministry of Magic's Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. Many people at the Ministry of Magic know about this! What's more, so many students saw the Basilisk with their own eyes today, so we can't keep it a secret! Regardless of what we do, Hogwarts must come up with a suitable explanation for the Ministry of Magic and the students' parents now."
"Fine!" Victor put down his rolled-up sleeves in boredom, thought for a few seconds, then asked, "Professor, the school should have a Boggart, right?"
A Boggart is a magical creature with the ability to shapeshift. It has the ability to see into a person's heart and transform into their greatest fear. The book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them does not classify it, it is only listed as a non-being.
Dumbledore's eyes lit up when he heard the name. A Boggart? That's a good idea!!! This is a great way to fool people!
A few minutes later, Fudge arrived at Hogwarts with a group of Aurors from the Ministry of Magic. As soon as he landed, our Minister of Magic shouted, "Where is the Basilisk? Where is the Basilisk?!"
He was very confused. The situation in front of him seemed very calm, and everything around him was intact, with no signs of a struggle.
Dumbledore calmly pointed to the "Basilisk" on the ground and, with a straight face, began to make up a story. "This is it, but luckily, it's a Boggart!"
"A Boggart?" Fudge asked with a look of suspicion. "Didn't you say it was a Basilisk?"
Dumbledore nodded without changing his expression and began to explain, "Yes, a Boggart! Actually, this was all just a misunderstanding. A student who is very proficient in Magical Creatures is very afraid of creatures like Basilisks. A Boggart hiding in the school suddenly ran out and happened to run into him, which caused this whole misunderstanding.
"So if it's a Boggart, why hasn't it changed?" Fudge asked, still not giving up.
"Mr. Dreyar happened to run into it. He cast a special spell, so the Boggart will maintain its current form until it wakes up."
"A special spell?" Fudge turned his attention to Victor.
"Yes, it's a magic passed down in Ravenclaw," Victor also said with a straight face.
"Then where is the student who is proficient in Magical Creatures? What's his name?" Fudge still didn't let it go.
"The student is in the hospital wing. He's a Scamander," Dumbledore replied.
At this very moment, in the Hogwarts hospital wing, Rolf Scamander, the grandson of the author of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Newt Scamander, was lying on a hospital bed with a look of hopelessness, reciting his temporary backstory to prevent any well-meaning guests from making a surprise visit.
"Minister, it's been checked!" an Auror from the Committee on the Disposal of Dangerous Creatures, who was responsible for the inspection, suddenly whispered into Fudge's ear. "It is indeed a Boggart. It might have been hit by a spell that caused it to pass out and maintain the form of a Basilisk."
Hearing this, Fudge gritted his teeth, thinking that such a good opportunity had just slipped away. He took a deep breath, nodded, pursed his lips, and said, "Well, as long as everyone is alright! But Albus, I hope Hogwarts can strengthen its management of magical creatures in the future. Although creatures like Boggarts are not very dangerous, they can still cause some unnecessary trouble, like this time. I hope Hogwarts will submit a clear report to the Ministry of Magic afterward so that we can explain this to the public."
Dumbledore continued to reply expressionlessly, "Yes, of course! No problem!"
With that, Fudge left with his people, and Dumbledore and the other professors finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"Victor, I hope that the next time you do something like this, you'll let me know so I can be prepared," Dumbledore said, rubbing his temples with a look of helplessness.
"Huh?! I told you last night that I would take care of the Basilisk matter! You're the one who ran off to the Ministry of Magic early this morning. What does that have to do with me?!" Victor instantly looked indignant.
"You only said you would take care of it, you didn't say it would be today, and in such an ostentatious way!" Dumbledore retorted. With that, he went to deal with the follow-up matters. He seemed to have heard that many students were scared while they were in the toilet, but he didn't know what was going on…
And Victor, of course, didn't want to bother with the old bee. He stretched out with a sigh of relief, then pulled out the Basilisk that had been buried underground and dosed with a sleeping potion. He was now thinking about where to find a place to keep the Basilisk. After raising Helena for so long, he now had some experience in raising magical creatures!
But, speaking of which… where was Helena? Where did Helena go? Victor suddenly realized that his little pet was missing, and he hadn't seen it since it came out of the pipes.
Could it be that…
Victor looked awkwardly at the wall that had already been repaired. He suddenly remembered that when he cast the Ice Tide spell, he might have frozen Helena in the pipes with the Basilisk…
And at this very moment, Helena had already broken free from the ice and was all alone, lost in the crisscrossing pipes of Hogwarts, resentfully looking for a way out.
