When Bilbo scurried back into the kitchen, Luke breathed a sigh of relief and turned to look at the entry seriously.
"Hogwarts Sign-in System? But what does this have to do with Middle-earth? Since it's the Hogwarts Sign-in System, shouldn't I have transmigrated to the Harry Potter world? How did I end up in Middle-earth?"
"Could it be that I transmigrated to the wrong place?"
Luke was full of confusion and bewilderment.
He tried to ask what the system did.
But the system never responded, only the entry still floated brightly before his eyes, waiting for him to make a decision.
Unable to get a response from the system, Luke could only tentatively say: "Sign-in?"
The entry flickered, the previous text disappeared, and then a new line of text appeared:
[Sign-in successful! magic talent unlocked, congratulations on becoming a Wizard!]
The next moment, Luke felt as if his body had opened some kind of secret realm, and a surge of vigorous magic power gushed out from within him, rapidly spreading to his limbs and bones.
"Poof!"
He vaguely heard an invisible barrier within his body being broken through.
The next second, the magic power in his body rushed out.
In an instant, Luke felt his body become light, as if he had no weight, and he floated up.
Along with him, all the tables, chairs, sofas, teapots, and other items in the entire room floated into the air!
"Oh, my goodness!"
A shocked voice came from the kitchen doorway.
Bilbo Baggins's eyes widened, looking at everything before him in disbelief, and the plate in his hand instantly dropped to the floor.
As if startled by Bilbo's movement, the floating objects suddenly paused, then, as if losing their strength, all dropped to the ground.
The room instantly became a mess.
Luke recovered from the magic burst, looking at the scene he had caused, his face full of apology.
"I'm very sorry, Mr. Baggins, I didn't mean for this to happen, it's all my fault!"
Bilbo barely recovered from his shock, and the look in his eyes towards Luke became fervent and worshipful.
"Mr. Luke, you are actually a Wizard!"
"This is amazing!"
"I didn't even expect it myself," Luke silently muttered in his heart.
Then the next period of time was spent by the two of them cleaning up the mess.
Although Luke really wanted to restore everything around him with magic.
But he was now just a Squib Wizard with magic power but no understanding of how to use it.
So he could only clean up little by little by himself.
After cleaning up, Bilbo made two more servings of food.
At the dining table,
Bilbo said somewhat awkwardly: "Sorry, Mr. Luke, I wasn't prepared today, so this is all we have for now. I'll go to Hobbiton to buy groceries first thing tomorrow morning, and then I'll prepare the most sumptuous Hobbit dinner for you."
Noticing Bilbo's somewhat cautious attitude, Luke smiled and shook his head, comforting him gently:
"Bilbo, I can call you that, right? You don't have to be so formal, you can just call me Luke. And I should thank you for taking me in, so why can't we interact as friends?"
Feeling Luke's sincere attitude, Bilbo completely relaxed, and a smile appeared on his face.
The kind Hobbit had no complex thoughts and happily accepted Luke's friendship.
He happily extended his hand,
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Luke, my friend!"
Luke's smile was bright as he reached out and shook his hand.
"It's a pleasure to meet you too, Bilbo, my friend!"
The atmosphere in Bag End became friendly and warm.
Luke asked Bilbo about the Shire and the areas beyond the Shire.
Bilbo told him everything he knew; although he had never left the Shire and knew little about the outside world, he loved reading adventure travelogues, so he gave Luke a lot of useful information.
For example, starting from the Shire, there was an East-West Road leading east, which would pass through Brandywine Bridge, the Old Forest, the Barrow-downs, and reach the human town of Bree.
Further east was the endless wilderness, leading directly to the Misty Mountains.
It was said that there was also a North-South Road leading south from Bree Town, which would bypass the Misty Mountains and eventually reach the southern human kingdom—Gondor.
Also, the current time was Shire Reckoning 1340, which was the Third Age 2940 of Middle-earth.
This was the year before Bilbo joined the Thorin & Company.
This meant that soon, this Hobbit would embark on his thrilling adventure.
If Luke's idea before becoming a Wizard was to survive by staying hidden.
Then with the Sign-in System, he began to consider whether to join the Thorin & Company.
After all, the expedition would pass through different places along the way, and even areas inhabited by Elves. If he wanted to sign in at different locations, joining the Thorin & Company would be a good choice.
Late at night, after saying goodnight to Bilbo.
Luke lay on the bed, which was a bit small for him, and the blanket barely covered the lower half of his body.
However, it was midsummer, so there was no need to worry about catching a cold.
Moonlight streamed through the round window, casting its glow, intertwining with the dim candlelight.
Listening to the chirping of crickets and the croaking of frogs outside, Luke's restless heart gradually calmed down.
Since he was here, he would make the best of it.
Having unexpectedly arrived in this strange yet familiar world, he had no choice but to try his best to become stronger and live well.
Luke cleared his mind, and slowly, his consciousness gradually blurred, eventually falling into a deep sleep.
The next day,
Luke woke up very early.
Listening to the faint snoring from next door, he bent down and tiptoed to the cylindrical living room, opened the round door, and came out into the garden.
Greeting the breeze and the scent of flowers, he finally took a deep breath.
Hobbit houses were too short; constantly bending over, even if it didn't cause back pain, he was afraid he would get cervical spondylosis.
Bilbo's Bag End was located on the hill of Hobbiton.
From here, the entire scenery of Hobbiton was clear at a glance.
The scenery of Hobbiton was beautiful, truly like a fairy tale town, with lush green grass, abundant flowers, and even the trees and bushes were very short, as if to accommodate its inhabitants.
Luke was so immersed in such beauty that he even had an urge to live there permanently.
After enjoying the beautiful scenery, Luke began to think about his tasks for the coming period.
Although he was now a Wizard, he had no wand, which was essential for Wizards, nor had he learned any magic.
Compared to ordinary people, he was not much stronger.
As a former "Potterhead," he could blurt out spells like "Wingardium Leviosa," "Expelliarmus," "Petrificus Totalus," and even "Avada Kedavra."
But magic was not simply about chanting a spell; it also required understanding magic theory, combining it with a wand and casting gestures, as well as mastering the spell, to successfully unleash its magical power.
So even if Luke chanted the spells until his lips were almost raw, there was no reaction at all.
However, Luke did not give up.
He firmly believed that even without a wand and without having learned any magic, as long as his will was firm, he could still produce magical effects.
Hadn't Harry Potter, before he even started school, made the glass at the zoo disappear out of thin air, allowing the Python to escape, and then trapped his cousin Dudley inside?
Even Neville, who was once thought by his family to be a Squib, could bounce like a rubber ball and fly a long distance when in danger.
Although these were not conscious spellcasting acts, Luke believed that if he tried hard, he might also be able to cast magic.
So Luke focused his gaze on a stone in the garden, trying to concentrate his will to make it fly.
But after trying for a long time, even turning his face red, the stone still showed no reaction.
Giving up on the heavier stone, Luke simply chose a leaf as his practice object.
At first, the leaf also showed no reaction.
But as time passed, the leaf moved without wind, and under an invisible force, it slowly floated into the air, wobbling.
