Chapter 59 - Chapter 59 : Subaru vs Ren!!

Subaru Natsuki hadn't been feeling well lately.

It seemed like only five days had passed, but he had actually endured over four years, experiencing hundreds of deaths and returns before finally understanding the power and principles of the Sin Archbishop of Sloth.

He made contracts with demi-humans, had assassins cut off each other's fingers, and in the end, he personally dealt with his opponents.

The night he parted ways with Emilia, he encountered Elsa, who was cornered and desperate.

She had just escaped the pursuing Sword Saint, and even someone as fragile as him posed a lethal threat to her.

Moreover, the knights of the royal capital were searching for this ruthless assassin.

In the end, he saved her.

The more he saw, the more he envied Ren and Reinhard.

They had immense power and authority, able to change the fates of others at will.

He, on the other hand, could do nothing except return from death.

So when he met the woman who had almost killed him several times, his jealousy overpowered his fear, and he saved her.

He got involved with the assassin's, but the witch's aura on him inevitably drew the attention of the Witch Cult, specifically the Sin Archbishop of Sloth, who had been drawn by Emilia.

His target was the half-elf Emilia, which undeniably meant his enemy.

He struggled against the Sin Archbishop of Sloth for over five hundred cycles, ultimately defeating him himself, and connected with Roswaal, giving the credit to Emilia.

Roswaal had clearly come for him as well, helping him unconditionally and cooperating with him.

No matter what Roswaal's intentions were, since it was to help Emilia become queen, Subaru could trust him.

Betrayal didn't matter; he could teach them a lesson over hundreds of cycles.

"Someone's here? Don't recognize them?" Subaru Natsuki looked at the Witch Cult members, his eyes revealing madness.

The cultists were full of respect for Subaru.

In just five days, he had defeated the Sin Archbishop of Sloth.

Such strength demanded respect.

Besides, the witch's aura on him was overwhelming.

No matter who he faced, Subaru decided to meet them.

He had the confidence in Return By Death.

He wasn't afraid.

Finally, they met.

The white-haired man was the same as ever, accompanied by a pair of twin maids, evoking envy.

Ram and Rem shivered slightly.

The once slightly chuunibyou boy had completely changed.

His eyes were wild, showing no fear of death.

The witch's aura around him was so strong that the two women couldn't help but wonder what someone had to experience to change so drastically.

"Subaru Natsuki? You're with the Witch Cult?" Ren looked at him calmly.

"So it's Ren, huh."

Subaru recalled Sloth's words and Emilia's target, then said, "That's right. I am the Sin Archbishop of Pride of the Witch Cult. Subaru Natsuki, at your service."

"Witch Cult!" Rem clenched her fists. With Ren and Ram beside her, both exuding that witch-like aura, she could still keep herself under control.

"Oh? It seems this beautiful girl really hates the Witch Cult." Subaru Natsuki had died hundreds of times and naturally had grown.

Rem's hatred didn't faze him at all. Was she strong? How many loops would it take?

"My maid's family was killed by the Witch Cult. Naturally, she hates them. Meeting them can make her a little emotional." Ren patted Rem on the head.

"So, as her Lord, are you going to kill me? Just so you know, I won't go easy on you just because you saved me before." Subaru stated a fact plainly.

Ram felt extremely uncomfortable. It had only been five days, yet his arrogant attitude annoyed her. But she knew she couldn't rush into action.

"Why would I kill you? I already told you. I know you can come back after dying. But have you considered something? To you, I am absolutely powerful. You can't kill us." Ren began setting a trap for Subaru.

The powers of the Sin Archbishop and the witches were extremely broken.

Neither had absolute advantage over the other, and each could fall victim to the other's ability.

If the trap worked, even countless loops couldn't prevent it from triggering.

Similarly, Ren could also be affected by Subaru's powers. He could never know what Subaru did in his previous loops or how much information he had. That was why witches and Sin Archbishops were so hard to deal with.

Subaru was already angry. Thinking of his goals and the recent fight against the Sin Archbishop of Sloth, his gaze toward Ren grew colder. "You'll regret what you said today."

"Do you think I'm bluffing? Do you really think this is an empty threat? I'm just stating a fact." Ren kept his eyes on him.

"Ren, huh? You will pay for these words." Subaru's tone remained cold, yet he had already fallen into Ren's trap.

"How arrogant. I'm standing right here, letting you try to kill me, and you still can't." Ren waved his fingers and signaled the twins to step back.

"Can't kill? Hah." Subaru's anger surged. The man actually underestimated him and used the weapon he had used to kill Sin Archbishop of Sloth to charge at Ren.

But Ren didn't move. He let the sharp weapon pierce his heart.

Subaru's hundreds of loops were no joke; he could easily end a life.

Ren fell to the ground, blood pouring out, seemingly on the brink of death. The twins, having seen this many times before, were no longer shocked.

"Weren't you supposed to be unkillable? Yet here you are, dead by my hand. I have to say, you all are really cold, just watching your master die." Subaru Natsuki looked at Ram and Rem.

"Is that so? And why would you think you could kill me?" Ren's voice sounded from behind Subaru.

Subaru quickly looked down, but there was nothing left—just a pool of blood. He stiffly turned his head and saw Ren, who looked completely unharmed.

Before Subaru could react, Ren's fist struck his stomach, forcing him to vomit stomach acid. He clutched his stomach and knelt on the ground, tears streaming down his face.

"This… this is impossible. I clearly killed you," Subaru said after retching, disbelief written all over him.

"Nothing is impossible. Didn't I tell you? You can't kill us."

"No… no, this isn't possible. What kind of divine protection do you have?" Subaru had always assumed Ren was a native, carrying some absurd divine protection.

Seeing his opponent repeatedly fall into traps without consequence, Ren had no further worries. As for imprisoning Subaru, he never considered it—why trap someone only to let them cause trouble later?

Ren decided to leave with Ram and Rem. Seeing the three of them about to depart, Subaru stood up. "You're just going to leave like that?"

"What else?" Ren turned to look at Subaru, his eyes full of disdain.

Subaru didn't speak harshly this time. Instead, he clenched his fists tightly and stared at Ren, vowing to kill him, even if it cost countless lives.

But first, he needed to understand Ren's abilities, his divine protections. He wanted his death to have meaning, not die without gaining any information.

Then he left with the other Witch Cult followers, his original goal unchanged—hunt Sin Archbishops, gain glory for Emilia, and help her become queen.

Only now, his goal also included killing Ren. He was not panicked; Sin Archbishop of Sloth had already given him his greatest suffering, and he had grown ever more accustomed of Return By Death.
