"Is this the place?" Shokuhou Misaki asked as she got out of the car, brushing her hair aside.
"Yeah, the timing worked out perfectly." Ren also stepped out.
"Yay!" Dolly followed, wearing shorts and looking energetic, along with two Misaka clones in Tokiwadai uniforms.
"So many sisters…" Shirai Kuroko's eyes went wide, and without hesitation, she instantaneously teleported to one of the Misakas and hugged her tightly.
"Ah~ that familiar scent… this faint electric current is just right." Shirai Kuroko didn't let go.
Misaka 8790 shivered, unable to resist using physical force to push her off.
"Misaka apologizes. It was instinctive, but Misaka does not regret it."
"The way the sisters talk is so weird… but I like it~" Shirai Kuroko declared happily.
Shokuhou Misaki silently stepped back a few paces, keeping some distance.
But Shirai Kuroko wasn't done. In the next moment, she was hanging onto Dolly. Experiencing a long-haired sister was new for her, and the scent was intoxicating.
"Misaki!" Dolly panicked, unsure what to do, and called for help.
Shokuhou Misaki was about to use her ability, but before she could act, Shirai Kuroko beat her to it.
"Kuroko, get off me!" Misaka Mikoto hurried over and yanked her down, sending a jolt of electricity through her.
"Ah~ this electric current… that familiar scent… it's the sister…" Shirai Kuroko looked utterly thrilled.
Misaka Mikoto groaned, holding her forehead. Having such a lesbian friend was exhausting.
"So many Misakas?" Someone who had arrived looked curious, ignoring the monsters in the distance.
"Later, we'll deal with that. First, let's solve this problem." Misaka Mikoto rushed forward using her electromaster powers and confronted Shirai Kuroko.
After freeing herself, Dolly hid cautiously behind Shokuhou Misaki, watching Shirai Kuroko carefully, afraid she might hug her next. Just now, she had felt a shiver down her spine.
"Kuroko, are you… lesbian?" Shokuhou Misaki asked, looking at her.
"It's still better than you. At school, you two clash, but behind the scenes, you're surrounded by so many sisters. I'm so jealous," Shirai Kuroko blurted honestly.
Shokuhou Misaki's face flushed. She didn't know how to respond. She had feared this exact situation—clashing at school but secretly gathering each other's clones was something she never expected to see.
The group was still bickering when Ren arrived beside Misaka Mikoto.
"Ren-sensei, you need to step back. This monster is out of control and pretty strong," Misaka Mikoto said, standing in front of him. She took out a coin and fired it at the creature.
The monster quickly recovered. They needed to find its core.
"Researcher Harumi, about the illness affecting the boys and girls, I can recommend a doctor. Very reliable," Ren said, remembering how even Dolly could be brought back by Heaven Canceller. The children shouldn't be in serious danger.
"Impossible…" Kiyama Harumi sat on the ground, completely dejected.
"You dare perform such inhumane experiments? And you don't believe it's possible? The probabilities are the same in both cases," Ren began lecturing him.
"…" Kiyama Harumi didn't respond.
"Ren-sensei, piss off." Misaka Mikoto used her ability to kick Ren away, narrowly dodging the monster's attack.
"…" Ren looked at her. She was saving him, yet he felt no gratitude. He didn't even need to dodge.
"Enough. I'll handle this. You all move aside," Misaka Mikoto said, knowing exactly who they needed to deal with. She fired several more Railgun shots without giving Ren a chance to reply.
Ren dusted off the spot where Misaka had kicked him and walked over to Kiyama Harumi.
"Researcher Ren, are you here to mock me?" Harumi asked. As a researcher, she knew this wasn't something a doctor could fix.
"Mock you for what?"
"Your research succeeded. The clone is perfect. Mine failed and even caused a huge mistake." Harumi's eyes were empty.
"That doesn't count as success…" Ren sighed. He had pursued this path originally to prevent certain events, but back then, he lacked the power.
He was grateful to the multiverse fragments that gave him power beyond limits.
"It's time to fix this," Ren said. Since he had decided to intervene, there was no point in watching from the sidelines.
"Ren-sensei, move away!" Misaka quickly retracted her ability, afraid of accidentally hitting him.
"Leave it to me. I'm strong," Ren said, clenching his fist and swinging at the enormous monster.
The shockwave from his punch engulfed the creature. The monster tried to escape, tried to dodge—but its structure faltered in fear. One hit and it would be dead.
Boom—
The punch struck the monster, shattering it. The core was completely crushed by that single blow.
Misaka Mikoto opened her mouth in shock. She hadn't expected that the usually gentle teacher could be so formidable. The punch he threw felt extremely dangerous—one hit, and she might not survive.
"What's going on… isn't Ren supposed to be Level 0? Has the experiment succeeded?" Kiyama Harumi stared blankly at the scene before him.
"Done." Ren clapped his hands lightly, then turned to Kiyama Harumi. "I chose this path of research not to become stronger, but to stop certain things from happening."
At that moment, Misaka Mikoto thought of the Level 6 Shift. Although the project had been suspended from the start, she had been curious about it afterwards and had quietly investigated on her own.
Using her electromaster powers, she managed to obtain the suspended project's files. Only then did she realize what Ren had actually accomplished and why her clone trusted him so completely.
It was only now that she truly understood—Ren's power was terrifying. The ability to obliterate someone controlling Level Upper, with a single gust of his punch could only be described as monstrous.
"So, what do you think, Misaka? The teacher wasn't lying, right?" Ren turned to Mikoto.
"Hmph. I can defeat it too." Misaka Mikoto said, helping Kiyama Harumi to her feet.
When she returned upstairs, she saw Shirai Kuroko's eyes sparkling like stars, and she was doing endless squats—clearly under the control of Shokuhou Misaki.
"Shokuhou, what are you doing?" Misaka couldn't just sit there.
"Misaka, maybe you should check what she did first," Shokuhou rolled her eyes. Could she really blame her? Everyone knew how insane Shirai Kuroko could be.
"She suddenly hugged me, which scared Misaka," Misaka 8790 explained first.
Then Mikoto noticed Dolly was trembling, avoiding Kuroko's gaze entirely. Even the surrounding guards looked speechless. That's when she understood everything.
She sent a proper electric shock to Shirai Kuroko, breaking Shokuhou's control over her.
"Exactly because of this, Misaka, you can be so annoying sometimes," Shokuhou muttered, pouting.
Mikoto returned the expression, equally disdainful. Shokuhou was always targeting her at school, and sometimes she just couldn't deal with her.
"All right, the fun's over. Let's go back," Ren spoke first, clearly not wanting them to argue any longer.
"See you next time, Elder Sister," Misaka said, bidding farewell respectfully.
As the group was about to leave, a voice called out to stop them.
"Please take those kids to the doctor you mentioned. Thank you." Kiyama Harumi said to Ren.
"Got it." Ren waved his hand.
