Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 The Era

{World Economy Newspaper: WENP}

{Sea Calendar: 1480, Distribution Region: Calm Belt}

{The Pirate Island welcomes a new King. The Admiral Killer and the Most Vicious Pirate, Rocks D. Xebec, takes the notorious den of pirates under his command. Rocks Pirates more dangerous than ever.}

{The upcoming Reverie under the suspicion of getting postponed due to the threat of Rocks Pirates invading and repeating the events of 12 years ago.}

{Roger Pirates also continue to roam the seas, the Marines' new sensation Monkey D. Garp continuing his chase.}

It took Isamu quite a while to accept the reality, and picking up the newspaper, he went through it once again, intending to gather as much information as he could.

"Calm Belt huh… then it'll take some time to escape from here." While the era he was in and the news of Rocks surprised him, Isamu focused more on the distribution region, a heavy look on his face.

The Calm Belt was an area with a calm sea and no wind or waves to propel ships or boats. On top of that, the most dangerous were the towering Sea Kings—the boar and tiger just now nothing compared to them—with his strength, super dangerous to leave the island.

"I still have chakra, and pairing that with haki, devil fruit, I can definitely reach a height which was unattainable in the Shinobi world." While eating the cooked meat, Isamu began to plan his future, and the prospect of using two power systems to improve himself really excited him.

"Just eating this for the long term would boost my physical strength to an unimaginable level," said Isamu as he looked at the cooked piece of boar meat in his hand, able to feel how nutritious it was and how, very slowly but surely, it was affecting his body on a genetic level.

Even ordinary people in the One Piece world had bodies much sturdier compared to those in the Shinobi world. Those at the top of the strength chain could fight for days just relying on their physical strength, stamina of that level unimaginable. Monsters like Garp could destroy super huge battleships with a punch without relying on haki, just pure physical strength.

"First goal, improve myself physically as much as I can and then leave." Isamu knew there was hardly any chance of him encountering a ship in the Calm Belt which he could board to escape, and he had to depend on himself. But his current strength would really put him in danger facing those Sea Kings.

He decided to train on this island, hunt the beasts here, eat them, and improve his physical abilities to the limit which was possible.

A few hours later,

HISSSSSS!!!!

A huge black snake at least 30 meters in length with white spots all around its body slithered through the forest, its huge body tumbling down some trees on the way. Its mouth was wide open, and its forked tongue flickered, its red vertical pupils locked on a figure in a plain black shirt and shorts, from its mouth shooting black liquid towards the person at rapid speed.

Poof!!

Sizzz!!!

The moment the liquid was about to hit him, the person dispersed into smoke, disappearing, and the black liquid hit the spot where he stood, with a sizzling sound, even the ground melting.

Wind Style! Great Wind Cleave!!!

The snake showed a confused look in its eyes, not able to understand why its prey suddenly turned into a puff of smoke and disappeared. But before it could think of a reason, it sensed the ground behind him vibrating a little, and it turned its head around—but blood spilled the moment it did so.

Thud!!

The huge head, cut neatly from the bottom, fell on the ground, followed by its huge body, which despite losing its head, seemed to still have some strength left in it, sizzling on the spot. Even the head which was cut off seemed to have some life left in it, slowly crawling towards the figure who did this to it.

"Really tenacious," said Isamu in a somewhat tired tone as he watched the head slide towards him, the previous attack consuming a lot of chakra in this body and leaving him somewhat exhausted.

"But it doesn't matter, I was going to roast it anyway." Saying that, Isamu brought his hand before him and flashed quick hand signs, putting one hand around his mouth and taking a deep breath.

Fire Style! Great Fireball Jutsu!!

Flames roared out of his mouth, turning into a huge fireball, hitting the snake head accurately.

HISSSSS!!!!!!

SIZZZ!!!!!!!

The painful hissing spread—but also with it, the smell of roasted meat. Isamu took a deep breath, sitting down on the spot, watching the snake head burn. After a while, the hissing stopped and even its body stopped moving. Isamu, with some dust on his shirt and shorts, was busy restoring his chakra and getting his breath back.

The last eight to nine hours had really been explosive for Isamu—going to bed only to find himself on this island in the middle of nowhere. Then witnessing a battle between two huge beasts and then the reveal that he was no longer in the Shinobi world, but the Pirate world next door.

As in a daze, he watched the snake head burn. A strong feeling of dizziness suddenly enveloped Isamu, and the world around him wobbled.

"What…?" muttered Isamu in a weak voice, and in the gradually darkening world noticed a shining mark on his right forearm—but before he could get a full look at it, the world turned dark, and the man before the burning snake disappeared from the spot like he never existed.
