Chapter 28 - 28: Watching Memory logs : reactions (p.3)

"Her potential is extraordinary. My uncle was one of the first to gain a mutated, undocumented variable. He protects others like him—gifted individuals the government or powerful families would exploit."

Ji-ho paused letting them digest his words carefully looking at them each as he carefully explained the situation.

"He even arranged research programs and rewards for volunteers with unique, never-before-seen gifts."

This caught everyone's attention and curiosity as they looked at ji-ho in question about the exact manner of this information.

Ji-ho looked at the team.

His grip on the table returned, knuckles paling again.

"One reason the main world remains in disarray is because of the sudden emergence of gifted anomalies. She will be safer under his wing."

The weight of the discussion pressed down on everyone.

Iseul's gift wasn't just powerful; it was unique. Her first act—using fragments of herself to heal Hae-won—left every person stunned.

Questions of limits… of containment… hovered in the air.

Chang-min leaned closer to Choon-hee, voice low but firm.

"We don't really have a choice. The drones and surveillance mechs are already scanning the scrapyard. If we let her go untrained… after what happened today, people will label her a threat. They will come for her. And if she doesn't control this gift, she might destroy herself—or others."

Choon-hee's eyes widened. Her hand pressed her shirt tighter to her chest.

"And those fainting effects—the strange resonance from the memory log… everyone in the scrapyard, the witnesses… they collapsed immediately. One wrong move, and it could happen again."

Ji-ho nodded grimly.

"Exactly. Every exhibition of power, every mission, must be controlled. That's why we need expeditions, practical experiences, supervised, with Loadon coordinating the brothers' protection."

Joon-seok added, voice firm.

"And we need to teach her crafting. Metals, radiation, infinita force—she can manipulate all of it."

He glanced at Loadon. His hand rubbed at his forehead again, weary.

"Melting down radiation-infused scrap. Convert it into energy. Reshape metals into whatever she imagines. It's unique and dangerous if uncontrolled."

Chul-jun leaned back, absorbing the reality. His fists loosened but clenched again moments later.

"So she's a walking anomaly. She creates limbs, heals from fragments of herself, converts radiation into power, crafts metals into constructs… and she doesn't even realize the limits yet."

Loadon's optics focused on the group.

"Affirmative. Creator's limits are unknown. Control must be taught."

These humans will guide her, protect her siblings, and manage controlled exposure.

Their understanding is incomplete, but loyalty is strong.

Creator is extraordinary. She cannot be treated as ordinary. Every mission, every practice must be calculated, measured, with failsafes in place.

Choon-hee exhaled slowly.

"She has to learn control. Practice, repetition, guidance. Otherwise, her gift will remain a ticking threat. People won't understand—it will be weaponized against her."

Ji-ho added,

"Her potential is unlimited. But she needs space to grow. We'll monitor, train, protect. Loadon, you'll be integral in that. Every step she takes, ensure her safety and her siblings' safety."

Loadon's reply came short, decisive.

"Understood."

Joon-seok's voice softened.

"Once she wakes, we guide her. Slowly. Options, not orders. She chooses her path, but we create a safe environment."

The room fell silent again.

They processed the enormity of what they had witnessed—the first huge act of her gift.

The memory logs showing her using fragments of herself to heal Hae-won.

The creation of limbs.

Iseul's power to manipulate metals after absorbing radiation.

The implications were staggering.

Chul-jun muttered, voice tight. His fists pressed against his knees.

"Bone fragments… blood… infinita force… she literally remade her."

He swallowed hard, eyes wide.

"And she didn't even realize it herself."

Chang-min's eyes were pale.

"Her gift… unmatched. We need careful training, control, but the potential… extraordinary."

Joon-seok glanced at Loadon.

"Keep all information from today locked tight. No access for outsiders."

Loadon inclined.

"Affirmative. Information and memory logs will be protected and locked."

Then movement came from the healing box.

Hae-won stirred. Groaning softly.

"Mmm… Ugh…"

Palms pressed to her head.

"Wasn't I dead?" she whispered.

Eyes blinking against the bright lights.

All attention snapped toward her.

Hae-won slayed as flashes of something… hazy.

She had a dream with Iseul in it.

'Then there was something else..'

'A memory. Iseul… she was holding me.' Hae-won shook her head to get a clearer picture.

Warm… protective… then nothing. Blankness.

'Why is my head so heavy?'

Hae-won looked up squinting her eyes.

——

"Fluxcutters… my head… it's going to explode…"

They gathered around.

"Hae-won!"

"Sis!"

Their voices overlapped with concern and relief.

She swung her arms, pushing them gently back.

"Ahhh! Not so close! Give me space!"

Ji-ho stepped forward carefully. His knuckles whitened as he forced himself to move slowly.

"Easy… she just woke. Let her breathe."

Gullius observed quietly. Noting the difference between instinctive human reactions and the needs of a gift user.

Iseul's ability had required fragments of herself, not her entire body, to recreate Hae-won.

The results were miraculous, yet dangerously unpredictable.

Choon-hee leaned closer to Hae-won.

"Not so loud. Breathe. Give her space."

Hae-won exhaled sharply, lowering her arms.

Relief, awe, and lingering shock flickered across their faces.

Finally, Hae-won's voice broke the quiet.

"Iseul… where's Iseul? Was she… okay?"

Her eyes searched the room.

The group shared a silent glance.

Ji-ho stepped forward gently.

"She's safe. She's resting. Everything's under control."

Joon-seok added softly,

"She's alright. You're alright. We've got everything handled."

Choon-hee nodded, offering a small smile.

The other expression looked strange, like they're hiding something.

"You're safe, and you're whole. That's what matters right now."

Hae-won pressed her palms to her face, the weight on her chest lifting slowly.

"I… I'm alive?"

Their eyes, their stiff movements… like they're keeping secrets I'm not ready to know yet.

"Yes," Ji-ho said reassuringly.

"You're alive. And you're okay." Chang-min chimed in also moving forward.

Hae-won can feel it.

'What happened? What did I miss?'

Iseul's gift had saved their friend, reshaping not just flesh, but almost at the of cost iseul life.

The real journey—control, guidance, protection—was only beginning.

And while Hae-won had awakened, the plan for controlled training, protection, and expeditions for Iseul would proceed once both girls were ready.

Almost like it's vibrating through the air between the five of them.

'Something changed while I was… unconscious.'

Have-won glanced Between the five and the subconscious distance between the two.

There was tension here… a thick one.
