Chapter 42 - 42). How Peculiar

Iseul could now see the shadows of the people coming towards the alley where she hide.

Clearly, her only choice was to trust her gift.

Although her gift was quite mysterious, and didn't necessarily communicate well with her, she doubt that it actually wanted to do anything to harm her.

iseul was naturally a suspicious person. Especially to something unknown, even if it was her so-called gift but she decided this time to trust it.

'I mean, who has ever heard of a gift that tried to get them killed right? they were connected after all.' This was her thought process.

Before iseul could defend herself to her gift , a light shimmered in front of her — a glowing door forming from thin air, unlike her domain's usual golden radiance.

This one was dark silver, edges pulsating like a heartbeat.

The voice of her gift repeated, stronger this time. "Enter coward!"

Loadon stepped forward, optics scanning the door manifestation. "Creator its time to go."

This broke her from her stupor allowing her to register that her gift had just called her a coward, but also helped her out once again.

The thugs were almost at the alley's entrance now.

Iseul looked between the forming door and the narrowing shadows. Panic took hold.

"Enter!"her gift urged again, impatient and commanding.

She didn't have time to think. "I know! Whatever I wont dumbly stay here!" she yelped when picked up by Loadon's arm.

The mech dashed toward the door, pushing his large mass through first.

The light rippled around his frame before swallowing them whole.

Then Iseul jumped from his arm slamming the door shut quickly behind them.

Her chest heaved as she leaned forward gasping for breath.

"Oh shit… we were too close to being exposed" she looked at the sky in a daze.

"Don't say we — its just you" her gift grumbled.

This time iseul ignored it, not allowing it to ruin her significantly good mood at the fact that they escaped confrontation free!

A second later—the door disappeared.

Her gaze darted back to where the door had been, but it was gone—dissolved into the air like smoke.

When she tried reaching out mentally, the connection was blank.

There wasn't anything there she doesn't even sense any of her infinita force or space rifts.

She stared blankly at the empty space. "Does my gift have such traits as teleportation?

Was that even possible? She analyze for a second I came up with nothing.

"This doesn't make sense."

Iseul gift had more mysterious traits than she realized.

Forget it why not ask the source of the cause?

Iseul reached out mentally trying to sense her gift seeing if it was willing to chat.

"Hey you, what did you do? why was the door different this time? Why silver instead of gold?" she questioned it highly interested in learning how the doors worked.

Her gift didn't respond—not a hum, not a flicker.

She tried several times still it's presence was completely went dormant.

"Really?" she groaned throwing her hands up in slight irritation. "Now you're still ignoring me?"

Silence only greeted her.

Tsk.

Iseul shoulders slumped.

"What a sensitive amd petty gift…" she pouted softly, glaring up at the sky as if the unseen presence could hear her sulk.

It's a golden door, but this time a silver door materialized and a let her right to her rooftop, which is completely different from teleportation that normal teleportation gifter use.

"no, I wouldn't say teleport. It's more closer to a gateway gifter." she analyzed voicing her thoughts out loud.

She walked in a slow circle, eyes wide.

The golden door before had only lead her to her domain, but this… door was silver and felt different.

A door path that could move her across real space?

"Just what the hell is going on?" she muttered rubbing her eyes.

Gateway gifters were of the spatial category they are people who are able to create pin point gateway doors or portals to specific locations or places where they leave marks or have visited, remember or have a picture of.

' was this another power of her gift?!' Iseul bit her lip as she pondered curiously.

They are close to teleportors types but completely different depending on their mental strength and gift engery levels with ranking.

Her gift connected to her rooftop, and the power was very similar to what she's heard about from class and studies on different types of gateway gifters.

'Wasn't that interesting display like those gate gifters!?' that iseul did not know for sure but what other way can she think since she is now magically home when she was 1 hour away by walk!

She wasn't sure.

Every path, portal, passage and understanding was unique to each gifter.

It was confusing as iseul thought her gift was a building or crafting type that was mutated. Even on her profile, says that she's a low level illusionist When she took the gift test though she knew that she wasn't illusionist even before the test.

Now iseul wasn't so sure what category she belongs to.

Her gift didn't fit any norms of anything.

Iseul really planned to explore more to confirm her thoughts after all they were just speculations.

Though iseul wasn't for sure, but she was going to explore it some more when she had the chance.

"Though how peculiar, we "opened a door" a great distance in a instant" she murmured softly, still amazed to be at home so suddenly.

"Indeed, we did Creator"

Voicing his agreement Loadon walked beside iseul, optics flickering faintly as he scanned the quiet rooftop.

They fell into a silence collecting their thoughts.

"Creator," he said finally breaking the silence , "we appear to have traveled exactly 4.2 kilometers from last location.

The specific spatial gateway method cannot be detected."

Iseul scoffed nodding curtly , rubbing her forehead in frustration and worries. "Yeah… I noticed."

Then she noticed the smell around her was familiar — faint traces of the minty air freshener she uses when cleaning and replacing the air filtration system.

Slowly, she looked around.

Iseul blinked, straightening her clothes while inspecting the familiar surrounding.

They were standing on her rooftop of her home.

In front of Loadon's room.

"Woah —?" she breathed, spinning in place. "How—how did we—weren't we just—"

She trailed off, scratching her head as she looked around bewildered and in pure amazement.

Iseul rushed to open loadon room door.

Everything was where he left it — Loadon's bed, the small lamp by the tool table, even the half-eaten snack bar she'd forgotten the early that day.
