Noah's pov

The cool morning air nipped at my skin as I crouched in the training circle, watching Pecan catch her breath. Her shoulders rose and fell heavily, her hand resting on her knee. Sweat beaded her forehead, and her usually sharp eyes looked dull.

"You okay, Pecan?" I asked, trying to keep my voice casual, though concern was already gnawing at me.

"Yeah," she panted, waving me off with a weak smile. "Just... just need a second."

I nodded, stepping back to give her space. But something felt off. Pecan was never this out of breath after sparring. She was one of the strongest wolves I'd ever trained with,tenacious, unrelenting. Yet today, she seemed... tired.

"Are you sure you're not pushing yourself too hard?" I pressed, crossing my arms.

She straightened, wiping her face with the back of her hand. "Noah, I'm fine. Stop worrying so much."
