Chapter 4 - Chapter Four: A Chance Encounter

Ava's life was a whirlwind of activity in the days that followed Ethan's review. The bakery was flooded with customers, and Ava was thrilled to see her hard work paying off. But despite the chaos, Ava couldn't shake off the feeling that something was missing.

As she worked tirelessly to keep up with the demand, Ava found herself wondering what Ethan was up to. Had he written any more reviews? Was he thinking about her?

Ava pushed the thoughts aside, focusing on the task at hand. But fate had other plans.

On a sunny afternoon, as Ava was delivering a wedding cake to a nearby venue, she stumbled upon Ethan. He was sitting at a small café, typing away on his laptop.

Ava's heart skipped a beat as their eyes met. Ethan looked up, startled, and then a slow smile spread across his face.

"Ava," he said, standing up and walking towards her. "What a lovely surprise."

Ava felt a flutter in her chest as Ethan approached her. She had forgotten how tall and handsome he was, and how his eyes seemed to see right through her.

"I was just delivering a cake," Ava said, trying to sound casual. "I didn't expect to run into you."

Ethan chuckled. "I'm glad you did," he said. "I was just working on my next review. Would you like to join me for a cup of coffee?"

Ava hesitated for a moment, unsure if she should spend more time with Ethan. But something about his warm smile and kind eyes put her at ease.

"I'd love to," she said, smiling back at him.

As they sipped their coffee and chatted, Ava felt a sense of ease with Ethan that she hadn't experienced before. They talked about everything from food to music to their childhood memories.

Ava was surprised by how much they had in common, and how easy it was to talk to Ethan. She found herself laughing and smiling more than she had in weeks.

As the afternoon wore on, Ava realized that she didn't want the day to end. She wanted to spend more time with Ethan, to get to know him better.

And as they walked out of the café, Ethan turned to her and asked, "Would you like to grab dinner with me sometime this week?"

Ava's heart skipped a beat as she smiled up at him. "I'd love to," she said.

As they exchanged numbers and said their goodbyes, Ava couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. She had no idea what the future held, but she knew that she wanted to spend more time with Ethan.

And as she walked home, the stars twinkling above her, Ava felt a sense of hope that she hadn't felt in a long time. Maybe, just maybe, she was on the verge of finding something special.

Little did Ava know, Ethan was thinking about her too, his mind replaying their conversation and wondering what the future held for them. As he drifted off to sleep, a smile on his face, he knew that he couldn't wait to see Ava again.
