Chapter 2 - Chapter 2- The Ark

He opened his eyes and found himself in a vast space. The sky was blue with a few fluffy white clouds, green grass and tall lustrous trees covered the earth.

The air smelled fresh and a bright sun bathed the entire world with warm soft light that make his skin feel like he was submerged in healing fluid.

However what surprised him the most was not the beauty of this place but something else entirely. There was a lake but not any ordinary lake.

This was a law pool the sizes of a giant lake. The light reflected it multicolours like a rainbow. As a former sovereign he had seen law pools before but not one of this size.

Next to it was a golden tower that reached the clouds. Infront of the towers giant gates was a sign written in the old runes that said Library of Adam and Eve

Those words shook his core, how can he who was worshipped as one of the strongest humans in history not know who Adam and Eve are.

Adam of names and Eve of knowledge were the two strongest humans ever, the reason he was once called the strongest human is because there were still doubt those two were even human, there was very little known about them after all.

He could nolonger contain his excitement, he placed his hands on the gates intending to push them open when golden runes lit up on the giant gates.

Human genetic sequence detected he heard a mechanic female voice say before the gates swung open. He went inside cautiously at first but his excitement and curiosity made him throw cautiousness out the window.

When he got inside he realised the tower was much larger inside than it was outside, it walls were aligned with runic inscriptions. Shelves filled with books covered the entire first floor.

He went around skimming through the books. Some of them contained history and knowledge about not only humanity but other races as well, including the long extinct divine races but it appeared that information was not complete.

He assumed more was on the top floors. What was most surprising though was the number of mana breathing techniques. Thousands of them were here and this was just the first floor.

Even more surprising was their quality. There were seven grades to breathing techniques and other treasures, from mortal grade to divine grade.

He had hundreds of mana breathing techniques in his past life, some of them were personally created by him, his most powerful and priced was a legendary grade technique of the rune path called the whispering fire technique.

It increased his comprehension of fire runes and it what allowed him to become a sovereign in less that 15 000 years which was an impressive feat.

However he noticed a stark difference between these and the ones he had, these were better in every way. The mortal grade ones were better than most earth grade techniques he owned.

He even saw one of the rune path that focused on fire runes, it was definitely better than his whispering fire but it was a heaven grade, one grade lower than legendary.

He sighed. The ancient era was much better than ours in terms of cultivation, I would've loved to meet experts pathfinders of that time. He put the book back and continued roaming around the library.

He saw techniques of each of the five paths of humanity. He walked until he reached the end of the first floor. Infront of him was a golden book placed on a wooden lectern and covered by a glass barrier.

Below the book were words written FOUR PATHS CONVERGENCE TECHNIQUE. He smiled, this is what he was looking for. Four paths?, I guess that diary was wrong when it said three.

He reached out and the glass disappeared, he opened the book and read the introduction. It was even more impressive than he had expected.

According to the introduction it allowed one to split their soul into four and each piece can walk one of the four human paths. Four? That makes sense though, this technique was probably created before the manatech path came to be.

And so was this entire place but that doesn't explain why techniques of the manatech path can be found here. I believe I can answer that, he heard a voice behind him.

He turned around startled and before him stood a beautiful woman with dark skin. Who are you? He asked while watching her with caution.

I am Nobu the librarian, it a pleasure to meet you ark master. Ark master? Who Me? Yes, that is how you got here is it not? The ark is the only way to get to this space.

So that cube is called the ark? Yes. Can I ask who created it and why? You can. Okay, the silence stretched for a few seconds. Well who created it and why was it created?

I can't tell you that. Then why did you say I can ask? Because you can and you did but I never said I would answer, she replied with a straight face.

Fine, can I atleast know why you won't tell me? Because you're too weak, pathetically so. Well that was unnecessary but okay. No no, you don't understand, I've seen toddlers more powerful than you.

Well that just not true, now you just being intentionally hurtful. No I'm not, I look down on you too much to waste my precious time trying to hurt you.

Okay, normally that's not something you would tell somebody straight to their face but I appreciate the honesty, besides you don't even know me. I don't have to, I can tell you useless just by looking at you, if I was not bound by the ark to assist you I would not even share the same space with you, your weakness offends my soul, if souls could throw up I would be barfing non stop.

Okay okay stop, he rubbed the bridge between his eyes. Damn, lady you're mean, what have I ever done to you? You the most unworthy Ark master I have ever seen.

Being forced to serve you is torture so forgive me for being mean, or don't, I don't really care. He sighed, I didn't think my mood would be ruined so much by the first person I've met.

Can I atleast take the book, I don't really think my heart and mental strength are strong enough to continue talking to you. You're the Ark master, the book is yours, though I doubt it would be of any use to you.

I suppose I will wait for you to die in a ditch somewhere and somebody else obtains the Ark, hopefully soon. He didn't respond to her remarks, he tried to leave but remembered he didn't how.

Ahh, sorry, I have no idea how to leave this place. She looked annoyed, figure it out oh great Ark master. Or if you tell me I can leave and you won't have to deal with me.

She sighed, fine you useless master, just concentrate and think about your body. He did that and felt his mind being pulled out.
