Chapter 3 - System Store

"What do you want to do?" Sarah asked with shock and suspicion.

"If I give the diary to Dad, what do you think he will do?"

"Go ahead and show him." Sarah said disdainfully. "He will only say 'family scandals should not be made public,' and then never mention it again."

"Then what if I show it to Aunt Beaumont(Uta Surname) and our two dear sisters?" Lucas said. "What if I post it online and make it public?"

A hint of hesitation crept into Sarah's voice. "Dad naturally has ways to suppress it."

"Do the media and public opinion of the Great Sun Empire revolve solely around the Everleigh family?" Lucas didn't believe it. "Does Dad have no political enemies? At the very least, outside the empire, there should be plenty of people interested in you and the Everleighs, right?"

This world consisted of two major continents, the eastern and western lands. The western lands were occupied by the Great Sun Empire and its vassal states, while the eastern lands were dotted with large and small nations.

These eastern nations were busy fighting among themselves and had not yet turned their attention to dealing with the Great Sun Empire, but their gaze had never left it.

The Everleigh's, as one of the eight noble families of the Great Sun Empire, were quite famous in the eastern lands.

Sarah bit her lip lightly. "Are you threatening me?"

Lucas smiled faintly. "It's not quite a threat, but I do want to ask you for something."

Sarah asked tentatively, "What is it?"

Your submission—that was what Lucas was thinking, but he didn't say it out loud.

He knew that with just this diary, he couldn't make Sarah submit completely.

After all, if the diary were made public, the only thing Sarah would lose was face.

Besides, this was an electronic diary, with no actual handwriting. As long as Sarah firmly denied it, no one would have evidence to prove she was lying.

"What I want is justice!"

Lucas's words clearly took Sarah by surprise. She asked in confusion, "Justice? What kind of justice do you want?"

Lucas said, "This morning, I spoke out of turn. You could have scolded me back, even slapped me. That would have been within the bounds of reasonable retaliation. But you struck me so hard I spat blood. Do you think that was fair?"

Lucas's words naturally held some truth, and Sarah knew deep down that she had indeed acted impulsively in the morning. But she still didn't want to lower herself to apologize, so she avoided his question. "You want compensation?"

"Exactly." Lucas suppressed his nervousness as much as possible and pulled out a small dagger from the pocket of his pajama pants. "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. You made me bleed, so you should repay me with your own blood. Use this dagger to cut your finger, and I'll return the backup to you. After that, we'll be even."

Yes, Lucas had never expected to make Sarah submit under his control with just a diary. All he wanted was a drop of blood.

For Sarah, this was insignificant, so she would most likely not refuse. But with just that drop of blood, he could use the blood contract to take control of Sarah's body—something ten thousand times more effective than any leverage or threat.

Sure enough, after a moment of hesitation, Sarah stepped forward and snatched the dagger, lightly cutting the index finger of her left hand.

Blood stained the tip of the dagger, then dripped from it.

Sarah asked coldly, "Are you satisfied now?"

Lucas was too overjoyed to speak, but he kept his face as calm as possible.

He took back the dagger and left Sarah's room without a word.

Returning to his own room and closing the door, Lucas eagerly called out to the System. "System, I got Sarah's blood. How do I form the blood contract?"

"Detected that the host has obtained Sarah's blood through nonviolent means. Form the blood contract immediately?"

"Yes! Form it now!" The moment he gave the command, Lucas saw the blood on the dagger quickly condense into a smooth drop, sliding off the dagger and onto the hand holding it, where it spread into a bloodstain.

Soon, the blood completely seeped into his skin, leaving no trace behind.

"Congratulations, host. You have formed a blood contract with a fourth rank Wizard. Reward: 400 points."

"The store function has been unlocked. The host can open the store interface to shop at any time. This interface is visible only to the host."

Hearing that the blood contract had been formed, Lucas immediately wanted to rush to the opposite door to test its effects. But the System's next words made him pause.

"Open the store interface."

As Lucas issued the command, an interface about the size of a computer screen unfolded before him.

Lucas looked carefully and found that the interface resembled the shopping platforms he was familiar with.

The homepage featured recommendations for various products. The middle button led to categorized listings of all products, where almost everything Lucas could think of—and things he hadn't—were available. The button on the right led to the personal center, where he could check his point balance and purchased items.

After spending about half an hour browsing and considering his current needs, Lucas spent 300 points on three items, each priced at 100 points, leaving 100 points in reserve.

[Soundproof Barrier (Low Grade)] When activated, creates a completely soundproof area within a two meter radius.

[Love Master (Low Grade)] After obtaining this ability, the host can induce slight pleasure in the target through physical contact.

[Indomitable (Low Grade)] After obtaining this ability, the duration of each sexual intercourse (from insertion onwards) will not be less than five minutes.

With the preparations complete, Lucas felt it was time to test whether the things provided by the System were truly effective.

He left his room and knocked on the door opposite.

The room was silent for a moment, then footsteps could be heard.

As the footsteps approached and stopped, the closed door opened.

A wave of fragrant air wafted into Lucas's nose.

Sarah had just finished showering. Her hair was still damp, and she wore a pure white silk nightgown. The low neckline revealed her distinct collarbones, adding a touch of sensuality uncommon for a girl her age.

"Your diary, here." Sarah snatched the USB drive from Lucas's hand and tossed it onto the desk behind her.

Seeing that Lucas didn't seem inclined to leave, she said coldly, "Is there anything else?"

Lucas put on a sincere expression. "Can I come in to talk?"

Sarah hesitated briefly but didn't answer. Instead, she took a slight step back, opening the door wider.

Lucas quietly activated the soundproof barrier, quickly entered the room, and closed the door behind him.

Sarah crossed her arms, her brow slightly furrowed. "If you have something to say, say it quickly."

Lucas's gaze grew tender. "Sister, I like you."

"What?" Sarah never expected Lucas to confess to her so directly. For a moment, she couldn't believe it and wondered if she had misheard. "Say that again?"
