After the sumptuous breakfast, Tristan allowed her exactly ten minutes of solace before asking her to go out with him.
To say she was surprised could only be termed an understatement.
"Go out with you? Like a date?"
Tristan grinned. "No, silly. I mean literally go outside. It's too good a day for you to be cooked up in this terrible room in this cold mansion as you've been since you got here." His eyes sparked with cunning. "Although if you'd much rather go on an actual date, I'll prepare something—"
"No dates." Audrey interrupted, her cheeks flushed. "No going out, either. I'd much rather enjoy my solitude in this terrible room in this cold mansion."
Tristan wagged a finger at her. "Not on my watch, love. I tried to be civil about it. You know, like a dear friend would. You're forcing me to resort to dishing out threats."
Audrey scoffed. "Threats? What could you possibly do that's worse than what you've already done?"
