TYLER'S POV
The man, who Tyler assumed to be either the Alpha King's secretary or Beta, led him up a few flight of stairs to an open room that could either be a reception for guests or drawing room. Tyler wasn't used to such grandeur. Everything in Dark Creek was raw and scratched down to the hard bones and edges.
Anyway, the man motioned to one of four couches in the room. "I'll inform him of your presence."
Tyler said nothing. He watched the slim man amble through another door, but chose to remain standing. The couch appeared too soft for his liking. The plush carpet swallowed the soles of his shoes. The air smelled artificial but not unpleasant. Discomforting, at best, for a man who grew up in the wild world of Dark Creek.
Realistic paintings hung along the walls of the spherical room, showing a sort of transition between wolves and men. It ended in the merger of their spirits to become one, a mightier force with unique capabilities fostered by the full moon.
