Chapter 31 - Chapter 31 Flight Path

  Chapter 31: Flight

After everyone was ready, Xiao Ling said to Vice Dean Hu Qian, "Vice Dean, is it okay for me to ride our Rayquaza?"

Hu Qian twitched his lips and said, "Of course, as long as you don't cause any trouble."

He had originally wanted to show off his Dou Qi wings in front of the students, but now this kid had completely stolen the show. He shook his head, nodding his head.

Hu Qian and the elders beside him surveyed the open space. When they saw that everyone had boarded their griffins, they exchanged glances and nodded slightly. Hu Qian waved his hand, and Hu Qian and the three elders leaped into the air. With a jolt of their shoulders, four pairs of dazzling Dou Qi wings extended from their backs. These wings fluttered slightly, and their figures hovered motionless amid the envious gazes of the crowd in the open space.

To condense Dou Qi wings and fly freely is a perennial dream for many practitioners.

"We will personally escort you all the way." Looking down from his perch at the open space below, Hu Qian smiled. With a wave of his hand, the griffin rider below let out a sharp whistle. Immediately, the griffin's wings flapped, and its massive form slowly ascended into the air, casting an ever-shrinking shadow on the ground.

Xiao Ling patted Rayquaza on the back. Rayquaza, in tune with his thoughts, let out a long roar and followed the group.

As the flight gained altitude, the figures below shrank, until they were barely the size of ants. From this vantage point, the entire Canaan Academy could be seen in its entirety.

Above the azure sky, ten enormous griffins flapped their wings as they soared toward the seemingly endless mountains behind the academy. Beyond the griffins, Hu Qian and three elders formed a four-cornered formation, surrounding the entire griffin formation. A powerful fighting spirit emanated from their bodies, and no matter how fierce the wind blew, it couldn't move them in the slightest. Behind them, a handsome Splitting Sky Sea followed closely, its figure agile and soaring through the clouds like a lord of the skies.

The vast forest was dotted with all manner of magical beasts. Periodically, a ferocious beast would burst forth from the forest, roaring at the griffin formations above. Occasionally, flying beasts would pursue them. However, whenever these beasts approached the formation within a hundred meters, they would be terrified and retreat, utterly terrified by the powerful aura emanating from Hu Qian and the other three.

Of course, this wasn't entirely the case. The vast, boundless mountains were densely populated by magical beasts, some of them naturally formidable. Therefore, half an hour after the flight entered the mountains behind Canaan Academy, powerful beasts began charging the griffin formation, ignoring the pressure from Hu Qian and his three companions. At this moment, Hu Qian and the three elders began to display their astonishing prowess. With each wave of their hands, powerful streams of energy streaked across the sky like thunder. A muffled thud echoed as the massive beasts exploded, showering the sky with blood.

Fierce beasts of all kinds surged forward, yet none could pierce Hu Qian and his three companions' blockade.

Xiao Ling, intent on cultivating the battle experience of Split Sky Seat, had it unleash several energy jets, pulverizing even lower-level beasts.

With his soul's perception spreading, Xiao Ling clearly sensed the presence of fifth-tier, Dou Wang-level magical beasts within the dense forest below. However, at this level, magical beasts possessed intelligence comparable to that of humans, so they naturally could not fail to recognize the strength of Hu Qian and his companions. Consequently, they did not, like the less powerful beasts, recklessly attack the griffin formation. Fortunately, these high-tier beasts understood what fear meant. Otherwise, even with Hu Qian and four Dou Huang masters escorting them, their griffin formation would likely not have reached its destination unscathed.

Flying through a bloody mist, Hu Qian and his companions, like pointed cones, tore a path through the overwhelming swarm of magical beasts. The power of a Dou Huang master was truly terrifying.

After nearly an hour of this brutal collision, Hu Qian led the group to a vast expanse of grass. While everyone was still pondering the reason, Xiao Ling had already guessed that a spatial portal was about to open, leading into the inner courtyard.

Hu Qian first allowed everyone to land on the ground. Then, under the gaze of the crowd, he slowly took a dozen steps forward. Then, pausing, he waved his hand, and a stream of energy erupted from it, shooting out into the space before him. Immediately, a strange scene unfolded. As the energy passed through a certain empty space, it created ripples like water waves. These ripples rapidly undulated, culminating in a pale silver gate, nearly 20 to 30 feet tall, appearing out of thin air.

Everyone was startled by the strangely appearing silver gate. Clearly, they had never imagined that this seemingly ordinary place could hold such a profound mystery.

Under the gaze of the crowd, the silver gate slowly opened with a crisp sound. Beyond the gate lay the same dense forest as before, seemingly no different from the one they had just seen.

"Follow me." With a wave of his hand, Hu Qian led the way toward the silver gate, followed closely by dozens of students, faces full of curiosity.

Those who entered the silver gate vanished as if entering another dimension.

After releasing the Rayquaza's mega-evolution and retracting it into his sleeve, Xiao Ling also stepped toward the silver gate. Entering the silver gate, Xiao Ling felt as if he had entered a new world—a rather strange feeling.

After everyone, including the ten griffins, had entered, the gate slowly closed. A final ripple of silver energy spread out, and the silver gate gradually dissipated, finally vanishing completely. At that moment, the area had transformed back into a perfectly ordinary forest entrance.

Glancing forward, he found the scene before him was still the same forest as before.

However, at this moment, at the entrance of the forest, two old men and several middle-aged men suddenly appeared. Behind them stood nearly forty young people. Xiao Ling scanned them and found that they all wore a badge with a tower-like pattern engraved on their chests.

One of the old men said, "Old Hu, you are always so punctual. How are the new students this year?"

Pointing to where Xiao Ling was, Hu Qian stroked his beard and said with great satisfaction, "The quality of this year's students is the most talented I have ever taught. Not to mention several high-level great fighting masters, Xiao Ling is also a four-star great fighting master, and his cousin is already a five-star fighting master at the age of nine. Compared with Xiao Ling's talent at that time, they are on par with each other."

Hearing this, the two elders glanced at the few people with a little surprise, and finally nodded slightly, sighing, "I didn't expect that there would be so many geniuses besides Xiao Ling this year. The inner courtyard is going to be interesting."

Seeing the two elders looking over here, Xiao Ling stepped forward, bowed and greeted them, "Elder Su, Elder Qing, please take care of me when I arrive at the inner courtyard!"

Seeing this, the two elders stroked their beards, smiled kindly, but did not respond. It's certainly important to take care of the talented students the academy is focusing on, but it can't be brought out in public. Even if others notice, it will have a different impact if it's brought out in public.

Xiao Ling was also very tactful and didn't continue the topic. He retreated to Xiao Xun'er and the others and whispered, "Get your physical conditions in order. Those senior students up front will be our targets. They're not very strong, so we can easily take them down."

Everyone nodded and began to sit cross-legged to adjust their condition.
