Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 – Wrath of the Demon Hunter

📖 Chapter 5 – Wrath of the Demon Hunter

🌑 Moon of the Fallen King

Morning broke slowly through the jungle, its light choked by thick mists that clung to the trees like secrets too heavy to reveal. A small wooden house stood nestled among twisted roots and ancient stones—modest, fragile, peaceful.

But peace in a cursed land was always an illusion.

From the shadowed ridges above the forest, he watched—his red eyes burning through the mist like dying coals.

The Demon Lord, still cloaked in the monstrous form of scaled armor and black wings, said nothing as he gazed down at the house below. His claws flexed, not in anger—but in purpose.

> "They deserve the truth…" he thought. "And judgment."

With a slow exhale, he began to change. Flesh shimmered. Wings shrank. Horns melted into skin. The monstrous frame softened into an elegant man draped in dark, ceremonial robes. Long hair flowed behind him like a curtain of shadows.

In moments, the Demon Lord was gone… replaced by a man of poise and mystery.

Far from the jungle, at the gates of Jujutsu High, students murmured as the mysterious visitor passed through. His steps were measured, calm—yet every pair of eyes that followed him felt a chill crawl across their backs.

> "Who is he?" one student whispered.

> "Something… feels wrong," said another.

Inside the High Council chamber, powerful sorcerers gathered in tension. Members of the Gojo Clan stood among them—cloaked, commanding, cold.

The stranger bowed before them… and then dropped his first truth like a blade.

> "The child you killed… Lucius… lives."

The silence shattered like glass.

One elder's hand clenched at his side. The Gojo leader, sharp-eyed and unreadable, narrowed his gaze.

> "Are you certain?"

> The man smiled slightly. "Would I come all this way… to lie?"

Back in the jungle, inside the quiet home, Lucius sat by a small window. His small fingers traced the mist gathering on the glass.

> "Mama," he asked softly, "why did those people try to kill me…?"

Across from him, the demon girl smiled warmly as she poured tea. Her black hair framed gentle eyes. She knelt beside him and placed a hand on his cheek.

> "Because they feared what they didn't understand," she said. "But you're not alone anymore."

For a heartbeat, everything felt calm.

And then—silence.

The birds stopped singing.

The wind vanished.

The girl's expression changed instantly. She rose to her feet, her eyes sharp.

> "They're here…"

The door exploded inward.

Cursed wind and blue light burst into the house like a wave. Cloaked figures of the Gojo Clan stormed in, their cursed energy crackling like lightning.

> "Step away from the child!" one of them barked.

Lucius scrambled back, trembling, tears forming in his eyes.

> "Mama… I'm scared…"

The demon girl stepped forward, claws glowing, stance wide.

> "You'll have to go through me first."

In a blink, the clash began. Blue cursed energy met blazing red flame. The walls cracked. Sparks flew. The ground shook.

Lucius could barely breathe.

He saw it again—flashes of memory. A circle of sorcerers. Pain. His body pierced. His life taken.

> "I've seen this… I've died before…"

The demon girl was struck—her shoulder torn, blood soaking her clothes. Still, she smiled, arms shielding Lucius.

> "You must survive… no matter what."

A final blast of cursed light pierced through her chest.

Lucius screamed.

> "MAMAAAA!!"

She collapsed—silent, lifeless. Her blood soaked the floor.

Lucius did not move. He couldn't.

He stared at her body, his hands stained red.

> "Not again…" he whispered.

> "They always take… everything…"

A wind picked up. Unnatural. Violent.

The Gojo sorcerers paused, sensing the shift.

Lucius stood slowly. His face blank. But around him, cursed energy began to rise—red and black, spiraling like smoke. His heartbeat echoed like war drums in his ears.

He turned toward the door—and ran.

Into the jungle.

The forest swallowed him, but someone watched from above.

A figure stood beneath a glowing moonbeam. Cloaked in gray. Twin swords crossed on his back. Eyes glowing with eerie calm.

The Master had arrived.

> "…A cursed soul," he whispered to himself. "But not evil. Not yet."

He stepped forward, walking through ash and leaves until he reached the boy, trembling in the underbrush.

Lucius looked up at him—eyes glassy, lost.

The Master extended a hand.

> "Come with me. I'll show you how to survive."
