Chapter 43 - "Holy Mother's Curse"

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Under the pitch-black night sky…

An empty stretch of ground, with a lonely church standing tall.

Through the veil of darkness, several figures with jet-black wings descended from above, gliding silently down toward the church's windows.

Under the moonlight, you could make out three graceful silhouettes, now standing in front of a gathered crowd.

In the center stood a tall woman with long, silky black hair flowing all the way down to her hips, her aura cold and commanding.

To her left was a voluptuous, striking woman with long blue hair — the very image of a mature beauty.

The last one was a blonde, blue-eyed girl in a gothic dress, her hair styled into twin tails.

Each of them was stunning in her own way, like three flowers blooming at once.

But the "lost exorcists" in front of them didn't dare steal even a second glance.

They knew all too well…

Behind those angelic faces hid hearts as cruel as they came.

Caravana frowned. "Lady Rinali, it's almost time. Why hasn't Donasik shown up yet? Could something have happened?"

Rinali gave her a cool glance. "Hmph, Donasik is strong. Nothing's going to happen to him."

Milt, swaying her twin tails, snorted, "He's probably just held up by something. No need to worry. I'm sure he'll bring Asia right to you, Rinali."

"Mm. We'll wait a little longer," Rinali nodded. "With Donasik's strength, taking care of Asia is no problem."

The nearby lost exorcists heard their conversation, wanting to say something but holding back.

This was demon territory, after all. Was it really okay to be this confident?

Right then, a playful voice cut through the night.

"You don't need to wait. Donasik's already gone to meet your god."

The moment those words dropped, the church doors swung wide open.

Gasps rippled through the room.

Everyone's eyes darted to the doorway.

Moonlight poured in, revealing a group of one man and four women.

"Asia? She's here?!" ×3

Seeing the figure in a nun's habit, Rinali, Mittelt, and Caravana's faces all darkened.

They'd just been talking big — and now reality had slapped them in the face.

Worse still… they could feel the aura of Edgar and the others. Cold glints flickered in their eyes.

Rinali: "Asia, you've fallen? You've actually become a demon's servant?"

Mittelt laughed. "Hahaha, you think a handful of demons can keep you safe?"

Edgar smiled lazily. "Not just keep her safe. You dared to hunt my servant — you'll have to pay for that."

He glanced at the glowing demon contract on his arm, his smile widening.

Great. Three more slaves coming right up.

Caravana, arms crossed, coldly: "Such arrogance from a mere demon."

Mittelt, hands on her hips, sneering: "Demons are always this stupid — can't read the situation, still think they can challenge us angels."

Rinali gave a soft, almost gentle smile… but her words were ice: "Kill them all. Leave Asia alive."

Lost Exorcists: "Understood!"

They all rushed toward Edgar's group in a flash of light.

Edgar didn't move an inch.

"Asia, they're yours," he said.

Asia: "M-me?"

Edgar: "Yeah. You're a demon now."

With that, he gave her a little push forward.

"Believe in yourself. You're strong now."

From the side, Shiho Miyano's eyelid twitched.

Asia looked completely lost, her voice breaking almost into a sob.

"I… I don't think so…"

She'd only ever healed people before — fighting was never her thing.

Lost Exorcists (eyes lighting up): "Perfect, let's grab her first!"

Holy light flared around them.

What do I do?

What do I do?!

Asia froze, no idea how to react.

Edgar: "Asia — don't forget your skill."

Right… her skill. It could be used for combat.

Hum!

Almost on instinct, Asia raised her hands. A dazzling light burst from her palms.

"Holy Mother's Curse."

In the next moment…

The warm, holy light twisted into darkness, spreading out in a sudden wave.

The lost exorcists felt a chilling cold seize their bodies, their very cells screaming in agony.

"Aaaagh!"

They thrashed like they were being torn apart by a thousand blades.

Splurt!Splurt!Splurt!

Blood sprayed. Screams cut off.

Dozens of lost exorcists collapsed into a pool of blood, lifeless.

Rinali, Mittelt, and Caravana's eyes went wide.

What… did they just see?

Asia did this?

Impossible. The Holy Mother's Smile skill shouldn't have anything like this…

Shiho Miyano and Belmod exchanged a glance, both seeing the same shock in each other's eyes.

This nun… had awakened such a dangerous ability?

On the other side, Asia stood frozen, staring at the fallen exorcists.

She had killed them. All of them.

Edgar: "Don't dwell on it. If you hadn't killed them, they would've killed you."

He pulled her close, ruffling her hair.

His presence was warm.

The tears in Asia's eyes slowly eased.

Edgar stroked her silky hair in comfort.

He wasn't some cold, clueless guy — he could read his servants' personalities and respond to them.

And for someone like Asia, killing was clearly a brutal first step.

But once you step into the demon's world…

You have to face it all.

"..."
