Chapter 9 - 9.

The meeting dragged on.

Diego sat quietly, listening as the executives discussed numbers, profits, and future plans. His face showed nothing no interest, no boredom, just calm attention.

He nodded when needed, spoke only when necessary.

Benjamin, on the other hand, kept talking loudly, acting as if he was the most important person in the room.

He interrupted others, gave orders, and made grand statements. Diego watched him carefully but said nothing. He knew if had said anything it won't end well so he choose not to speak.

Finally, after what felt like hours, the meeting ended.

People stood up, gathering their papers, chatting as they headed for the door. Diego stayed seated for a moment, letting the others leave first.

He took a slow breath, keeping his expression neutral.

Then, he stood and walked toward the exit.

But before he could leave, Benjamin stepped in front of him, blocking his path.

His suit was expensive, his watch probably cost more than most people made in a year. He smirked, looking down at Diego as if he was nothing.

"Diego,"*Benjamin said, his voice dripping with fake politeness. "A word?"

Diego stopped.

He knew this wasn't going to be pleasant yet he didn't react.

He simply nodded.

"Of course," he said calmly.

Benjamin waited until most people had left the room. Then, his smirk turned into a sneer.

"Listen here," Benjamin said, his voice low and full of venom. "Just because you're standing in for Mr. Blackwood doesn't mean you're someone important. You're still a church rat. A poor, undeserving nobody."

Diego's jaw tightened.

His muscles tensed.

But his face stayed blank.

Benjamin continued, his voice a harsh whisper. "You think you're special? You think you matter? You don't. And I'll make sure Mr. Blackwood sees that. You'll be back in the gutter where you belong. I thought I had finally gotten rid of you when I got you out of Sophia's life but i thought wrong, you have a thing with leaching of reach people… you're such a disgusting man"

For a second, Diego's fingers curled slightly as his chest burned with anger, every bit of Benjamin's words getting to him.

He so badly wanted to wipe off the smirk on his face but he was working on being violent, he didn't want to resort to violence all the time even though people like Benjamin deserved that.

He didn't move, he didn't speak.

He couldn't.

Not yet.

The mission was more important than his pride.

So he took it.

He took the insult.

He took the disrespect.

Because one day soon Benjamin would regret every single word.

Benjamin smirked, thinking he had won. "Nothing to say? Good. Know your place you fucking piss of shit!"

Then, with one last mocking look, he turned and walked away, his expensive shoes clicking against the floor.

Diego stood there for a moment, breathing slowly.

His muscles were still tense.

His anger still simmered.

But he forced himself to relax.

Then, he straightened his suit and walked out of the room calm, composed, and in control.

For now.

But Benjamin had no idea he was adding fuel tot fire, that the storm coming for him was one he'd never be able to get out of.

The rest of the day went past like a blur and it was now time to leave.

He walked to the place where Marco was picking him up.

"Master" Marco acknowledged as he held the door open.

Diego only nodded before sliding in.

"Home?" Marco asked.

"Yes," Diego replied.

The drive was quiet.

Diego stared out the window, watching the city blur past.

His mind was still on Benjamin's words, on the way the man had looked at him-like he was nothing. The way Benjamin had always treated him like crap yet he couldn't do anything about it.

If only he knew Diego was far from nothing.

And soon, Benjamin would learn that.

When the car pulled up to the mansion, Diego stepped out without a word. Marco drove off, leaving him standing in front of the grand entrance.

The doors opened automatically as he approached.

"Welcome home, Master," Jarvis, greeted in her smooth, robotic voice.

He ignore her greeting, "Jarvis" he said, loosening his tie as he walked inside.

"Gather all the information on the Franklin family's shares with Blackwood Enterprises. Everything-past deals, current holdings, hidden transactions. I want it all."

"Right away, Master," Jarvis responded.

Diego kicked off his shoes, his mind already working through strategies.

He unbuttoned his suit jacket, shrugging it off as he made his way toward his bedroom.

The mansion was quiet, the only sound the soft hum of the air condition.

All workers were to exit the mansion before 6pm only the ones serving him dinner and after dinner they were to leave. He didn't like noise or having people around so Deigo set rules.

He undid his cuffs, rolling up his sleeves as he walked. His muscles ached from the tension of the day, from holding back his anger.

He needed a shower,

He needed to wash off the frustration and stress of the day.

As soon as he slipped the door open and walked in, he froze.

There, standing in the middle of his room, was a woman.

She was fresh out of the shower, her skin still glistening with droplets of water. A thin towel was wrapped around her body, barely reaching her knees.

Her dark hair was wet, clinging to her shoulders, and her cheeks were flushed from the heat of the water.

Diego's breath caught.

His eyes traveled down without permission

over the curve of her hips, the length of her legs, the way the towel clung to her damp skin.

His dick twitched in his pants.

Fuck!

Then, his gaze snapped up.

And he realized who she was.

Amelia.

Her lips parted in surprise, her eyes wide.

For a moment, neither of them moved.

But the tension between the two of them was palpable.

Diego had totally forgotten that she was moving in today, but that didn't explain why she was in his room.

His gaze didn't stop roaming around her body his jawline hardening.

This was so wrong, she was his best friends sister and it wasn't appropriate for him to be having such dirty thoughts, but she looked ravishing.

"Diego"

She finally spoke even though it came more as a whisper but it snapped him out of his daze, reality hitting him hard.

What the fuck was he doing?
