Chapter 1 - The Beginning of Hell

Meeting Hall, Supreme Pontiff's Palace

"Damn it, why did I ask the Supreme Pontiff for Bibi Dong's hand in marriage in such a daze?"

"I've just traveled through time. I'm still so young and handsome, and now it feels like it's all about to end."

"And I did it while acting like a lovesick fool."

In the vast meeting hall, spanning thousands of square meters, a young man held his temples, consumed by a troubling situation.

This young man, Qin Xuan, appeared to be only eighteen or nineteen years old with a handsome face. He wore a striking, fiery red, slim-fitting gown. His long hair cascaded like a waterfall, his eyes were pure black without any hint of impurity, and his facial features were perfectly proportioned with a tall, dignified nose. In his previous world, any woman who saw him would have been instantly captivated.

Gazing at the bright, cloudless sky, he raised a glass. Describing his elegance with poetic verses like "a jade tree swaying in the wind" would not be an exaggeration. Despite his exceptional appearance, Qin Xuan frowned, his eyes wandering as he observed the lavish surroundings. He was clearly not in a cheerful mood.

The reason for his distress was simple: he wasn't from this world. Before this, he had been an ordinary young man living in the 21st century on Earth. He had ambitions and passion, but before he could achieve anything, he found himself thrust into this new world. When he opened his eyes, he saw a middle-aged man with a majestic expression sitting before him, flanked by two elderly figures with imposing presences.

The middle-aged man was tall and burly, wearing luxurious armor with golden wings and a purple-gold crown. His fair skin and handsome face were complemented by a pair of golden pupils that made him stand out. A faint golden glow enveloped his body, exuding an invisible aura of majesty and holiness, inspiring worship and awe in those around him. Before Qin Xuan could comprehend his situation, a heavy pressure from the man surged toward him, sweeping through his body.

In an instant, he was forced to his knees, breaking into a cold sweat.

He had become a member of the Spirit Hall. The people in front of him were none other than Qian Xunji, the current Supreme Pontiff, and two Elders from the Hall of Elders, Jiang Jun and Jiang Long. In the original timeline, Qian Xunji was eventually killed by Tang Hao, but at this moment, Qin Xuan was still grappling with his newfound reality.

His talent was exceptional, second only to Bibi Dong's twin martial souls. Due to his unique gifts, he had been accepted as a disciple by the two Elders, Jiang Jun and Jiang Long, who had been in seclusion for years.

But the real problem lay in the body's previous owner's feelings for Bibi Dong. He had been infatuated with her for some time. Witnessing her affection for Yu Xiaogang, a man considered a good-for-nothing, he had impulsively asked the Supreme Pontiff for Bibi Dong's hand in marriage.

By the time Qin Xuan realized his mistake, it was too late.

Who was Qian Xunji? He was twisted enough to covet his own disciple. Even the most perverse individuals would have considered him excessive. To keep Bibi Dong, Qian Xunji resorted to forceful measures. He could have simply said, "Bibi Dong, do you want anything bad to happen to Yu Xiaogang?" and achieved his goal.

Would Bibi Dong have dared to betray the Spirit Hall? If she did, she would face the destruction of her cultivation or death. Instead of forcing Bibi Dong to remain in the Spirit Hall, filled with hatred, it would have been better to avoid planting the seeds of her eventual rebellion.

But Qian Xunji was too twisted and psychologically perverse. He coveted Bibi Dong's body and treated his disciples as mere tools. Thinking about all of this, Qin Xuan couldn't help but feel a pang of regret. He had been too subservient in front of Bibi Dong, lowering himself too much. He feared her anger whenever she flirted with Yu Xiaogang. No wonder Bibi Dong had never respected him.

Damn it. By constantly degrading himself, he had only hurt himself in the end. In his frustration, he had even gone to Qian Xunji to propose marriage. What had he been thinking?

If he truly wanted Bibi Dong, why hadn't he approached his two highly respected teachers in the Elder Hall? With his exceptional talent—second only to Bibi Dong's twin martial souls—and the backing of Jiang Jun and Jiang Long, two powerful Elders in the Spirit Hall, his proposal would have carried weight. Even Qian Xunji might have been forced to relent.

But now, he had messed everything up. Qian Xunji, who saw Bibi Dong as his forbidden love, was undoubtedly furious. Whether Qin Xuan could even leave the Supreme Pontiff's Palace alive was now a question. Although he had the protection of his two teachers, their loyalty ultimately lay with the Spirit Hall and the Angel Clan. Even if Qian Xunji did kill him, his teachers could only protest so much. In the end, Qian Xunji would receive little more than a reprimand, while Qin Xuan's life hung in the balance.

It was too late to change anything now. If only he could have regained his full memory sooner.

At this moment, Qian Xunji was indeed filled with murderous intent. The grand meeting hall was eerily silent. Qin Xuan could hear the crackling of his own bones under the pressure and the rhythmic tapping of Qian Xunji's fingers on the throne's armrest.

Qin Xuan was not just any ordinary member of the Spirit Hall—his talent was exceptional. A stern lesson might have been enough to ensure he never made such a bold move again. But his two teachers, the powerful Elders, valued Qin Xuan highly, and even Qian Daoliu, Qian Xunji's father, had high hopes for him.

Given this relationship, it was possible that his teachers would support him. If the two most talented individuals of the younger generation in the Spirit Hall—Qin Xuan and Bibi Dong—were to be together, it could be seen as a match made in heaven. Yet, to Qian Xunji, Bibi Dong was forbidden. He wanted to ensure the Angel Clan grew stronger by producing a naturally gifted heir. No one else could be allowed to interfere in his plans.
