Chapter 92: Overdoing It
"Alright, from now on we are family, so there's no need to be so formal," Qin Xuan gave Nong Yu a comforting hug, then chuckled. "Take A Yan into the room. Ling Yuan and Jing Ni should be back soon, and I have important matters to discuss with them."
He spoke seriously, but Nong Yu's cheeks flushed as she guessed roughly what was about to happen.
"Nong Yu bids farewell," she said, hurriedly pulling away and scurrying into the room with A Yan. She was worried that if she didn't leave, she might be dragged into the battlefield.
After a night of intense battle, where Qin Xuan relied on his self-created Spirit Ability, Reincarnation Divine Art (Lao Ai Edition), to achieve ultimate victory against two opponents, he opened his eyes with the first ray of sunlight.
"I'm going out to practice my sword," he said, feeling refreshed. "You two sleep a bit longer."
He felt much more at ease now that Nong Yu was here to look after A Yan. No matter how comfortable he was, however, he never slacked off in his cultivation. He deeply understood the importance of strength in this world. Everything he had was due to his talent and power; if his strength couldn't keep up, he would eventually lose it all.
"Go away, don't disturb me... this old lady needs more sleep..." Ling Yuan mumbled from the inner side of the bed, a charming blush on her face as she waved a slender arm.
Jing Ni, however, got up with him. She wordlessly put on her clothes and then draped a brand new, form-fitting robe over Qin Xuan. "I'll go with you."
The two entered the adjacent cultivation room. Inside the vast space, four of Qin Xuan's clones were already practicing, some honing their lightness skills, others sparring with sword techniques Jing Ni had taught them.
In the central area, Qin Xuan's main body and Jing Ni's sword lights crisscrossed. Though neither used spirit power, their sword shadows were a blur to the naked eye.
"It seems your Vertical Sword Technique is very proficient," Qin Xuan said while practicing the Horizontal Sword Technique with her. "Have you sensed anything?"
"Mmm, your guess is correct," Jing Ni replied. "The Vertical and Horizontal Sword Techniques do have the potential to promote a Martial Soul Fusion Technique. The mutual sensing between our Martial Souls has become vaguely perceptible. However, this might require a long period of integration."
"This kind of thing can't be rushed," Qin Xuan smiled. "Our minds, through these past six months of in-depth communication, are already well-aligned. What we need now is to use these two sword techniques to allow our Jing Ni Sword and Changming Sword, two Martial Souls with conflicting attributes, to integrate. That's the most difficult part."
"In-depth communication?" Jing Ni paused, then quickly understood his meaning. Her face flushed slightly. "Pah, you're so improper."
As she spoke, the momentum of her sword accelerated. Relying on her demigod-level physique and super Douluo-level mental force, she instantly gained the upper hand.
"Hey, hey, are you trying to murder your husband?" Qin Xuan struggled to parry. "It's one thing to overpower me with physique, but do you need to use mental force too? That's not fair!"
"Who told you to be so improper? Let's see if you dare to mess around like last night again." Recalling how Qin Xuan had secretly let Ling Yuan in during the night, Jing Ni's cheeks burned.
"Then next time I'll give you a heads-up."
"You're still talking..."
The two playfully bickered, and the sour scent of love filled the cultivation room. Three hours later, exhausted, Qin Xuan was supported out of the room by Jing Ni.
"Sister Jing Ni, husband, do you usually cultivate so diligently?" Ling Yuan asked, surprised to see him gasping for breath.
Ling Yuan had already started calling Jing Ni "Sister." Although Jing Ni had not yet been officially crowned, her becoming a High Priest of Spirit Hall was a foregone conclusion. As for "husband," Qin Xuan had asked her to call him that last night.
"You go ask him yourself," Jing Ni said, her eyes regaining some of their usual coldness as she helped Qin Xuan to the sofa.
Seeing Ling Yuan's slight awe, Qin Xuan took her hand. "Don't think too much. She's just a bit thin-skinned because of what happened last night."
Ling Yuan suddenly understood and stood up to apologize to Jing Ni. "I'm sorry, Sister Jing Ni." After all, she had been a willing participant in last night's madness.
[Inorin Note:
My apologies for the lack of updates; it's been over two weeks since I last uploaded this novel. I'm finally able to post again, and I will do my best to maintain a consistent daily upload schedule from now on.
As of right now, I am doing a mass release of all chapters up to 150. I would normally schedule one chapter every 30 minutes, but scheduling that many would be too time-consuming, so I have uploaded them all at once for you to enjoy.
