Chapter 2 - The eyes of the Beast

Page 2

The moonlight broke through the thick mist, casting silver streaks across the forest floor. My heartbeat quickened as I heard another branch snap behind me.

He's following me.

I turned swiftly, but again—nothing. Just the eerie silence of the cursed woods surrounding the Bloodfang Territory.

And then... he stepped out.

Tall. Broad-shouldered. His black hair slicked back by the rain, eyes burning like amber flames. He didn't just walk—he owned the ground beneath him.

Alpha Kael Thorne.

The most feared alpha in the northern lands... and the man my heart shouldn't crave.

"You're trespassing," he growled, voice low and threatening. Yet somehow, it made my knees weak. The closer he got, the colder the air became. His presence swallowed the silence.

"I—I wasn't trying to—"

"Silence," he snapped, but his eyes didn't hold rage. They held something else… something dangerous.

Desire.

I could feel it in the tension between us. The way his gaze traced the line of my jaw. The way his breath hitched—barely, but enough for me to notice.

He stepped closer. One hand rose, brushing the raindrops off my cheek, his touch surprisingly gentle.

"You're not just any girl," he said, voice husky. "You're... different."

Before I could speak, a deep voice echoed from behind.

"Step away from her, Alpha. She's not yours."

I turned and froze. Prince Liam Blackwood stood at the edge of the clearing, his silver royal cloak fluttering behind him, his jaw set in fury.

Oh no. Not now. Not both of them.

Two powerful men.

One broken girl.

And a secret that could destroy kingdoms.
