Chapter 1 - Chapter 0: The Devil Blessed By Heaven.

"At what point does imagination and reality split paths?"

"What happens when a man loses something he never had?"

I knew a man, you see. The one fate cursed—, yet he lived.

The man who bore evil yet created a light that never ends.

Some awaken to reality, some awaken to memory.

The men.

The men.

The men.

The men saw, they bled to demise.

They saw the —

"The Devil Blessed By Heaven."

I woke up in my room. Strange. It certainly seemed like my room.

But it's not… This looks exactly like my room — too exact.

The desk, the little bookshelf where my collection of various stories and half-read books of biology, physics and world history rest.

The bed, my little mana lamp on its side glowing a faint blue.

All too familiar.

Yet it's impossible for it to be my room.

You think that makes no sense? You are mistaken.

It makes perfect sense. How do you know you're in your real room as of now?

Because you breathe perhaps? You just know it is, since you're such an intellectually capable individual.

But I don't have that in mind, you see.

My home was lost years ago.

So where do I lie? Well, I'm not sure what I want to say.

Whoever you are… maybe you're the one in control.

Or…

A ghost. A ghoul. One with memories so unbearable… he wrote them into a book just so… maybe - maybe he could discard them from his conscience.

I got up from my bed.

 or maybe I did.

 I'm not sure.

I gazed upon the book laid open right in front of my eyes.

The pages turned by themselves.

When they stopped, the words read:

"あなたは覚えているが,認めようとしない"

The language seemed familiar, but I couldn't quite place it.

I couldn't recall if I'd known it before, but for whatever reason, the word induced a certain feeling in my chest.

Like one would feel when they're guilty.

"Big bro?" I heard a voice behind me.

"Big bro, why are you crying?"

Hearing that, I noticed streaks of tears flowing from my eyes.

"Weird." I thought to myself. Why? Because the one speaking to me betrayed me three years ago.

He never called me his brother after that.

Not to my face, at least.

So why now? That's why I knew. I knew this was a lie. A dream.

And I've had enough.

Shatter.

And the lies cease to exist. Well, back to reality.
