Saturday came with soft clouds and no alarm clocks. For once, the school rooftop was empty, the usual lunch chatter replaced by silence and wind.
Aki was already there when Haru arrived — two canned drinks beside him, condensation sliding down the metal.
"You brought peach tea again?" Haru asked, sitting down.
"You drink it anyway," Aki replied.
Haru rolled his eyes, but took it.
They sat like that for a while, legs dangling, the city stretching below.
"So," Haru said finally, not looking at him. "About that Kaito guy..."
Aki raised an eyebrow. "Still not over it?"
"I'm not jealous," Haru muttered. "I just don't like people from your past showing up with ironed sleeves and perfect smiles."
Aki said nothing.
Then, he reached into his bag.
A tiny white envelope. Folded carefully. No name on it.
Haru blinked. "What's that?"
Aki looked away, ears slightly pink. "Just open it."
Haru tore it gently.
Inside — two movie tickets. Sci-fi. Tonight. Reserved seats.
"You—"
"You said you wanted to watch it when the trailer dropped," Aki said quickly. "So... I thought…"
"You remembered?"
"Of course I did," Aki muttered.
Haru didn't reply right away.
But his hand slipped over, fingers brushing Aki's — light, brief, warm.
"You're such a boyfriend sometimes, it's scary."
Aki choked. "I'm not—"
"You are," Haru said, smirking now. "My favorite one."
Aki didn't respond, but the tips of his ears were glowing red.

That night, the theater was half-empty.
They sat in the back row. Not holding hands — but not far either.
Halfway through the movie, Haru leaned over.
"Hey," he whispered.
Aki glanced at him.
Haru grinned. "Still thinking about Kaito?"
"No," Aki said.
"Good. 'Cause I'm right here."
---
Meanwhile, outside the theater doors, someone stood leaning against the wall. Hands in pockets. A soft sigh.
Kaito Sera.
He watched the two walk out together, side by side, Aki laughing quietly at something Haru said.
"...I guess he found a new one," Kaito murmured to himself. "Oh well. I only came to say hi. No need to get jealous..."
But he stayed there for a while longer.
Staring just a second too long.

That night, Aki's journal read:
> "Peach tea. Movie tickets. A stupid sci-fi robot who kept saying 'I'll wait.' I don't know what this feeling is, but I think… I'm happy."
And in binary, barely visible at the bottom corner:
