Chapter-2: transmigrated into a broken headed woman
With a loud rumbling sound, the room seemed to have pressed the still button. It was eerily quiet and the atmosphere was terrifyingly tense. The Lark family was shocked, their faces all changed, and they were so scared that their souls flew away.
"How could this be...?" Before he finished speaking, a group of black-robed officials rushed in, and the man in the lead shouted.
"The Lark family is not allowed to leave without permission. All outsiders leave immediately."
"It was the Imperial Guard! They were responsible for monitoring officials, arresting and interrogating people, and they were directly responsible to the King. They were a terrifying existence." Someone spoke in whispers of excitement and fear.
Old lady Lark felt dizzy and her vision went dark. She had only one thought in her mind.
(It's over, it's all over!)
She fell to the ground, and the Lark family members exclaimed in surprise.
"Old lady….!"
The guests immediately scattered like birds and beasts. The wife of Marquis Devonshire stood up and left without saying a word or looking back. Jessica Lark looked at her future mother-in-law who was fleeing in panic, and her heart sank.
"Get started."
The man that looked like the commanding officer or the person in charge gave the order and the Imperial Guards, like flowing rivers that got the dam gates removed, rushed in and rummaged through the drawers, making a very scary noise.
The man in black swept his eyes with lightning-like eyes, and said,
"Hand over all the valuables on you. You can only keep one set of clothes. Don't force me to have someone search you. Then..." The meaning of the words is self-evident but the words appeared like the classic line of some robbers or bandits on the road.
The women of the Lark family were suddenly panicked. They cried and hurriedly handed over their jewelry, not daring to breathe. Wendy Lark tremblingly took off the pearl headdress on her head and the golden bracelet on her hand.
Just as she was about to hand them over, she tripped over something and fell flying. She fell heavily at the feet of the man in black and fainted immediately. The sudden change shocked everyone, and a voice full of shock and pain rang out.
"Wendy." … Wendy Lark just felt it was so noisy, with noise, crying, and begging sounds endless.
"Wendy, Wendy… Wake up quickly." her family called her.
"Who is crying her name? Why crying so sadly? I am not deaf or dead…" She tried hard to clear the fog, step by step, struggling towards the bright place ahead. Closer and closer, a white light flashed, and she suddenly opened her eyes.
"Hey, where is this? What caught my eye were a few worried faces, both men and women. Who were they?" Wendy though in her heart
The woman cried with joy, "Wendy, you woke up. That's great. You scared your parents so much."
"Wendy, do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?" The bearded middle-aged man's eyes were full of concern.
"Sister..." Two young men came over, their eyes red, obviously having cried. Wendy Lark looked confused.
(Where was this?) She thought.
Suddenly, a lot of memories appeared in her mind, and her past and present lives emerged in an intertwined manner. The amount of information was so great that her head hurt unbearably and she couldn't help but hug her head.
Swish, it touched the wound, it hurts, but I woke up and couldn't help shivering.
"Don't I die? Am I traveling through a book? Transmigrated to the body of a little girl with the same name and surname from the Greatway Dynasty? It is The Greatway Dynasty? I didn't remember this dynasty in the history."
Before she had time to think about it, the woman hugged her tightly, as if she had found a lost treasure. "Wendy, don't be afraid, Dad and Mom are here."
The chubby boy's eyes were filled with heartache, "Sister, does it hurt?"
Wendy Lark looked at the four people in front of her and felt so close to them. They were her relatives. The care and worry in their eyes were like a warm current flowing into my heart, and the affection for my family naturally spread deep into my body.
She seemed to have inherited the original owner's emotions. "It hurts."
She touched her forehead and found a cut, which had been simply treated. She acted coquettishly naturally, softly, with a hint of grievance, exactly the same as before just like the original owner.
Mary Lark carefully wiped the dried blood on Wendy Lark's forehead with a handkerchief and kept coaxing her. Other family members also gathered around her to comfort her. Wendy Lark's eyes were slightly hot.
(Is this the love of parents and brothers?) She thought. In her previous life, her parents died early, and she grew up with her grandfather. Her grandfather loved her very much, but he was a member of a national think tank and was too busy with work.
He was also very rational and introverted and would not easily express his emotions. She's a little bit lacking in love. Since her grandfather passed away, she no longer had any family to worry about, so it didn't matter where she went...
The sound of rummaging through boxes and cabinets rang in her ears, and she subconsciously looked around. The Imperial Guards were scattered everywhere, piling up the valuables they had collected, and there were special people sorting and accounting for them.
It was scattered but not chaotic, and well organized, which showed that the person had rich experience in house searches. The entire Lark family came to the mansion to celebrate Old Madam Lark's birthday, and now, all of them were killed at once.
Men, women, old and young all fell to the ground, trembling and crying. All the jewelry and accessories had been stripped off, leaving them in a plain and plain state, completely devoid of their former splendor.
