Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 — The Bride's Present Anguish

The curtains swayed gently in the evening breeze. The moon hid behind the clouds, almost as if it knew someone wasn't feeling happy. Quiet talking and little laughs from women could be heard through the window.

The air buzzed with the happy chatter of girls, their voices a cheerful melody accompanying the satisfying crunch of their special snacks. Today held a unique sweetness, a day blessed by Allah, uniting two souls in a bond of love. With heartfelt declarations, they affirmed their commitment to adorn each other's lives with care, respect, and unwavering affection, their spirits intertwined as one.

Or so it supposed to be...

Is been five hours since the bride arrived, in her room with two happy friends which are her relatives as well. They're thrilled that their cousin married into such a rich and kind family, and their joy is clear on their faces. When they saw her, the bride quietly sitting down, they decided to step out and allow her rest.

On the other hand instead of the usual beaming bride, this one was shrouded in gloom, hands clasped together, staring blankly at the wedding dress she pulls off and placed on the bed closed to her.

Joy, typically a bride's radiant companion, was nowhere to be seen. The quiet and little laughs of the other women, a painful reminder of the joy she isn't feeling.

She clenched and unclenched, shifted her gaze to the opened window. Her heart pounding.

The urge to bolt must have been strong, but the crushing question remained: where to run, and to whom? to that house where Hamzah lives?

Sitting down there in the quiet simplicity of her jilbab, after removing her peach and green beautiful bridal style lace gown. Left alone now in the room as they notice her tired.

She sighed deeply, pitching the bridge of her nose. Considering escaping to her parents house which holds the absence of her parents that will torment her or back to her Uncle house where Hamzah leaves?

She closes her eyes tight as despair washes over her. No good escape route.

She opened her eyes and lay down, head on the pillow, she blinked, a profound question echoed in the stillness of the room: how would she build a life, a home, a heart, with a man who remained a complete enigma?

Asking herself what does she knows about him? His voice? His laugh? His mannerisms? the complete blankness in her mind about him makes her situation more unsettling.

They say she will learn to love him that he is a good person from a good family. A short, sharp puff of air escaped her nostrils – a sound that dismissed their pronouncements with utter finality.

Not the missing part of her heart.

What does any of that have to do with love? my heart knows its own truth.

Since you've been gone, life has presented a series of challenges. While it's been difficult navigating these back-to-back problems, I hold onto the belief that there's a purpose in all of this and I actively look forward to finding happiness again. She whispered with eyes closed.

Mom Dad I miss you! A lump formed in her throat, and a silent tear traced a path down her cheek. She turned her face where she won't be seen if anyone happened to enter the room and pretended she is sleeping.

A sharp pang of loss pierced through her, yet a deep-seated faith anchored her with the understanding that this was their decreed time.

I pray Allah grant you the highest rank of jannah. I pray Allah unite us in jannah. Ya Allah bring the end of this for me. Ya Allah make me find my happiness.

A heavy sigh escaped her lips, and the weight of her thoughts gradually lulled her into a restless sleep. Taking her back to the days with her parents.

Ahmed Lukman and Amina Sahad were married for six years before they had a daughter. They try various methods of conception that are acceptable in Islam, but to no avail. They spend a lot of money but nothing works, so they eventually give up. A few months after giving up, the wife discovered she was five months pregnant.

She was still having her monthly circle and showed no signs of pregnancy. At five months pregnant, her body change was too noticeable. She gained weight, became bustier, and her stomach protruded slightly. She had a fairer complexion and was glowing.

With all of these changes, they rush to the hospital to determine which illness is bothering her. Her husband was terrified that something bad was happening to her. When the doctor told him that his wife was not sick but pregnant, he was skeptical.

The news shocked him until he regained his composure and said no way. The doctor assured him that his wife was pregnant, but he refused.

Why won't he?

After numerous unsuccessful attempts, the wife is actually having her period right now. She has not skipped her period in a while. So, with all of this, he struggled to believe until he saw it in the machine when the doctor suggested an ultrasound.

He saw a healthy baby. Allahu Akbar

With a shaky hands he immediately went to sujudun shukur in the ultrasound room. He thanks Allah as he prostrates in sujud. He had no idea when tears began to fall from his eyes as he expressed gratitude to Allah for the gift of new life. A child for which they had longed.

Finally, it has arrived.

Shukr, Alhamdulillah.

He and his wife were both in tears of happiness. The wife lips trembles due to the immense joy and happiness she can't put in words. The doctor informs them that some pregnancies are like this, and the period will soon stop. According to the results, the baby is developing normally and the pregnancy is progressing well.

A fresh wave of joy struck them at the news of healthy pregnancy.

Finally, they will become parents, insha'Allah.

By the grace of Allah, the pregnancy proceeded flawlessly. The delivery and labor took place in less than an hour. Aminah delivered her baby safely and without complications.

Allah shows them His miracle.

Alhamdulillah.

Ahmed and Aminah raised their daughter with love and affection while also ensuring she is well-mannered, disciplined, and religious.

Ahmed Lukman works in an industrial company, and his wife, Aminah, is a housewife or homemaker, to be precise. He takes excellent care of his family. He was an excellent husband and father.

Aminah ensures that she takes care of her family and household in the best possible and religious manner. Alhamdulillah, everything was going smoothly in the family...until that day.
