Chapter 343 - Chapter 343

The first part had already made so many players excited.

And now the second part, which has come out, also didn't let the players down.

If we're just talking about the story of "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare."

It's not that long as just one game.

Even though Lucas made some changes to the game levels and maps, and replaced many scenes in the original with just satellite maps and voice-overs, Lucas specially made beautiful CG animations.

The main idea was to make the players feel more for the characters in the game, so they would connect with them.

This way, when a character bravely dies, the players would feel it more deeply.

If you're going to make people sad, you can't just do it a little bit, you have to do it really hard.

Otherwise, it wouldn't be worth the money the players spent.

And I played the whole thing on normal difficulty, like a regular FPS player.

From beginning to end, it takes about 8 hours.

Players can basically finish the story in one day of playing hard.

Players didn't really mind, because Lucas had already made it clear that this was a trilogy.

And all three parts together, with more than twenty hours of gameplay, is actually longer than most games.

After all, this is a story-based game, and Lucas didn't add any collecting or challenge stuff to the main story.

Those things are in a separate section.

Most story-based games have a main story that lasts about 12-18 hours.

The reason why it sometimes takes thirty or forty hours, or even longer, to finish.

Is mainly because there are mini-games or things to collect in the game.

But those things are not in "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare," at least not in the main story.

The level design and story, Call of Duty perfectly put them together.

Making players really feel that the characters aren't just cold tools, but good friends and brothers they can trust.

Of course, that's why so many players online are talking about the story in the game.

'I'm crazy! I've never been so crazy about a game! I've been playing this game for almost 10 hours, right up to the time limit of my VR game pod.'

'The person above, you're not alone!'

'I'm so excited, especially the level design in the game, it's perfect! And that level with the airport shooting, it was so shocking! This is a war game, but after playing it I only have one thought, I hope the world has peace!'

'+1, it looks like a war game, but the reality of war is hard for me to accept.'

'Yes, war has taken so many of our friends! Gaz, Griggs, Roach, and Ghost!'

'And Paul Jackson, and Allen, even though they didn't have big parts, they shouldn't be forgotten!'

'Yes, every character is worth remembering, including the astronaut in space!'

'Everything is so perfect, but why did Ghost and Roach have to die? Why did Gaz and Griggs have to be killed!?'

'I hope no one else dies in the third part!'

'Yeah, my heart can't take any more sadness! Especially the knife in Soap at the end, I felt like I was stabbed too!'

'Yeah, Lucas is so evil! He says he loves his characters, but he treats the players worse and worse!'

'I agree, before it was real, now it's magic!'

'Magic my foot, you haven't played on veteran difficulty, the slums on veteran difficulty broke me! It's a double punch! I used to think "Dark Souls" and "Monster Hunter: World" were too hard and I could just not play them! But now I can play "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" on a higher difficulty and have fun shooting, but the old thief is messing with the story!'

'Damn, you're right, that old thief is up to no good!'

'Fight back against the old thief! No more deaths in the last game!'

.........

The players are so excited, and the game designers in the industry are amazed.

Players just play the game for fun.

But for game designers, they see a lot more.

First of all, the graphics of "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" are definitely in the top tier of FPS games right now.

More importantly, the game content, the level design of Modern Warfare, has so many different things in it.

Driving, climbing, sneaking, running away, chasing, the content is so rich.

Combined with the great shooting feel, and amazing big scenes and atmosphere.

"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" is almost perfect.

Seeing so many players online talking about "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare."

Howard Warcha at Atari is not happy at all.

Even though "Storm Action" hasn't come out yet, he knows that the winner has already been decided.

Especially after he personally experienced "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare," he knows that "Storm Action" can't compete at all.

He knows better than anyone how good "Storm Action" is.

Atari said to hurry up and finish the game project, so they can compete with Nebula Games.

But he's not stupid, he can work overtime and rush the project, but if they sacrifice quality, he'll be the one to blame.

So they can just fire him and hire someone else, he would be happy to let them.

But Atari is just talking.

Even though the game is almost finished, judging by Howard Warcha's reaction.

This thing can't compete with "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" at all.

In his eyes, the quality is good, it recreates some of the things in the movie well, and expands the timeline, adding a lot of new content.

By itself, it's actually already good.

But compared to "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare," all the problems suddenly become obvious.

First of all, the story. "Storm Action" is based on the original book and movie, with some extra content.

This can attract fans of the original, but the problem is that it's limited.

The scope of the story is not as good as "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare."

Secondly, the game characters, he played both parts of Modern Warfare as soon as they came out, and he even hated Lucas for killing Ghost and Roach, that damn guy killed those two characters!

And "Storm Action," he has to admit that, besides the main character, the other characters are basically just extra.

Simply put, "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" is a group story, where every character feels real to the player.

And "Storm Action" is just a solo act for the main character.

Normally, a solo act should make the player feel more connected, but "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" is just too good.

It might even be a one-sided victory.

Because of these reasons, Atari quickly announced something.

That the release date would be delayed, to July 10th.

Players who like "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" didn't care much about this delay.

But players who were looking forward to "Storm Action" were not happy.

Did they give up?

Suddenly, many players who were looking forward to it lost faith.

And Atari had no choice.

Should they just go ahead?

If they did, the two games would be compared, and with "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" being so popular, "Storm Action" would be destroyed.

It's better to just back down for now.

And come back stronger in a month.

And the day after Atari announced the delay, something happened that made many players happy.

But it wasn't a delay, it was the opposite.

The third part of "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare," which was originally announced to be released on June 20th, was now announced to be released on June 14th.
