Chapter 132 - Pressed to His Side

One of them snorted, fingers brushing his earpiece as it crackled softly. The cheetah hybrid sighed.

"…Tch. Lord Zephyr just called me. Capital mission."

The rat hybrid and snake hybrid froze.

"…What?"

"No."

"No way."

"You're lying."

"He called you?"

Both of them groaned in unison.

"Why not me?!" the rat hybrid complained.

"Because you're loud," the other replied flatly. "Keep tracking the hybrid."

Before either could argue, the speaker vanished—a cheetah hybrid, gone in a blink.

They stared at the empty space.

"…Damn," the rat hybrid muttered. "Those guys are extremely fast."

"Well," the snake hybrid sighed, shifting Durin again. "Once we meet Miki in Forschel, our job's done. Then we'll report to the Iron Lady."

The rat hybrid snorted.

Durin had already started to doze.

"...Your snake's dead weight now," the rat hybrid said. "Sleeping again."

The snake hybrid poked Durin lightly and sighed.

"It's almost winter. Snakes brumate."

He paused, thoughtful.
