Chapter 2 - The Five Legions

‏**[Opening Scene]

‏Dani's small star exploded directly in Kyle's face—**a blast that shook the plaza**—yet when the smoke cleared, Kyle stood **without a scratch**! A few stunned seconds of silence followed...

‏*"Damn! Is this all you've got? This pitiful power of yours?!"* (He joked while brushing explosion dust off his shoulders.)

‏Before Dani could react, **Kyle delivered a crushing punch to his jaw**, followed by a **hooking strike to the chest**, sending him flying toward the Supreme Commander.

**[Cloe's Intervention]**

‏Cloe suddenly appeared, her sword at Kyle's throat:

‏*"We'll end you today, you monster!"*

‏**09** swiftly grabbed her arm:

‏*"Sorry, *Number 8*... but orders are clear."*

‏Cloe (shouting): *"Who are you to command me?!"*

‏09 (grinning): *"Just saving you from Mowathan's wrath!"*

‏**[Hysterical Laughter]**

‏09 burst into **manic laughter**, while Kyle mocked:

‏*"How amusing that the army is full of pampered mutts!"*

‏Kyle smirked: *"As if that sword could even scratch me."*

‏Cloe glared at 09, furious: *"Don't you dare call me that again!"* She sheathed her sword.

‏Kyle laughed loudly: *"Like I'd let you walk away, you pathetic bitch!"*

‏Cloe drew her blade again—**Kyle just crossed his arms behind his back and closed his eyes**, grinning. She gritted her teeth in humiliation.

‏Then, **Mowathan's voice cut through**:

‏*"Enough! No need to complicate things."* (Sarcastically) *"My mistake for abusing my authority."*

‏An officer protested: *"But Commander Dani was humiliated! He's unconscious!"*

‏Kyle snapped: *"What's it to you? His wife or something?"*

‏Mowathan chuckled: *"I know Dani—he likes personal revenge."* Then, impatiently: *"The welcome ceremony is delayed, so I'll make this quick. There are **five legions**, each with its own divisions—"*

‏Kyle tried to provoke him further, but **his sister silenced him** (09 laughed hysterically at the scene).

‏Mowathan climbed the wrecked platform:

‏*"The **first legion: The Abyss**—all teams answer to us. I'm its direct commander. Most missions are **outside the walls**. Our emblem? A sword. Like mine, just... bigger."*

‏(Dead silence. Confused stares—*Is this really the man who terrifies everyone?*)

‏*"No laughs? I told a joke!"* He sighed. *"Well, at least laugh, 09."*

‏09: *"Hahaha! Awkward if I'm the only one!"*

‏*"Shut up and let me finish!"* Mowathan growled.

‏As 09 rambled nonsense, **Cloe dragged him away**.

‏Finally free, Mowathan said: *"Now, **Bryan** will brief you—I'm in a hurry."* He left swiftly.

‏---

‏**[Bryan's Briefing]**

‏Bryan (17, **City Legion commander**) stood indifferently. The recruits whispered: *"The coward... the only one who refused the Black Flower."*

‏*"Rules are everything,"* Bryan said flatly. *"Becoming soldiers changes nothing. I lead the **City Legion**. Then there's **Shadow Legion** (intel/assassinations), **Smuggling Legion**, and **Executioners Legion** (public deaths). Follow orders—it's your only way to survive."*

‏Before leaving, he warned: *"I'd advise against mocking *that beast* during missions... Today was a fluke."*

‏Lia glared at Kyle and told him, *"Go to the Ability Office and fill out the form."* Meanwhile, everyone was still in shock over what had happened. Kyle replied arrogantly, *"Does anyone even dare to go before me?"*

‏Lia: *"Did you put on the tattoo before leaving?"*

‏Kyle answered in a whisper, *"Mind your own business."* Then he headed to the examination office.

‏The office worker (nervous and suffocating) said, *"What are your abilities? Show me your tattoo."*

‏Kyle replied defiantly, *"What's it to you?"*

‏The worker muttered, *"Damn, what a day..."* Then he stood up and shouted, *"As if I care about your ability! I'm just doing my job! I'll have to waste precious hours of my life in this rotten office, so don't make it worse. If you won't show your flower tattoo and demonstrate your ability, then get out of my face—someone else will force you to!"*

‏Kyle responded angrily, *"Do you want me to rip your head off, you fool?"*

‏Another worker intervened and said, *"You saw his fight—just register him for the Abyss Squad."*

‏The first worker snapped back, *"And what if he has a special ability? Precognition, telepathy, or something else? That would be more useful for the other squads!"*

‏The second worker retorted, *"It's obvious he doesn't. He's just ashamed to admit he only has physical enhancement."*

‏Kyle laughed. *"Has anyone here even managed to develop their physical ability to my level, you failures? I *do* have a power—but I keep it as a trump card."* He added mockingly, *"Not that I'd need it for your pathetic missions anyway."*

‏The worker spoke sternly. *"I know you're on another level. But you should know—the second most terrifying thing in this world, right after consuming a Black Flower, is being assigned to the Abyss Squad."*

‏Kyle shouted, *"Just register me for physical enhancement!"* Then he added, *"My sister already told your superiors what I can do. So all of this is just a formality to me."*

‏He walked out and found Lia waiting for him. *"Did you get our room keys?"* he asked.

‏Lia replied, *"I requested an M16 truck—an advanced vehicle that expands into a villa-like home. So you'll be staying with me there."*

‏Kyle kept walking. *"I don't belong in your class. This might cause trouble—me staying in state property."*

‏She answered sarcastically, *"It's *mine*. I have a permit to do as I please."*

‏As they wandered through the back alleys—close to the ever-present orphanages—they saw how each orphanage had two faces: the upper floors were extravagantly designed, while the lower levels were decrepit.

‏Suddenly, Kyle gritted his teeth, his face twisting into something demonic. His arms trembled with rage as he watched a caretaker stomp on a five-year-old girl's head before whipping her.

‏Lia stopped him. *"You know this is how life is here. You can't change it. If you save her today, will you be there tomorrow? She'll either have to endure or study like mad to avoid punishment."*

‏Furious, he stormed off, saying, *"Meet me at the housing unit after securing space for your mobile home."*

‏Memories of his painful childhood flooded back—the orphanage, the copper wire lashings, one of the caretakers glaring at him and hissing, *"Damn you, you little killer."*

‏Kyle slapped himself. *"Damn it, I'm not the only one who suffered. I need to stop letting this weak crap affect me."*

‏Then, in a terrifying scene—Kyle appeared, gripping a woman's head.
