Chapter 48 - 048: Albedo, hurry and call him Daddy!

The Abyss Order.

In a gloomy, dim palace where the lights flickered like will-o'-the-wisps, the boy seated upon the throne frowned.

That boy was none other than Aether.

The great war five hundred years ago led to the destruction of Khaenri'ah and left an indelible mark on him. A once-mighty ancient nation was annihilated in an instant, and all its people paid a heavy price in that battle.

After five centuries of wandering the mortal world and experiencing so much, Aether finally decided to raise his banner against Celestia. He became the new king of the Khaenri'ahn refugees within the Abyss Order.

Since then, Aether's goal had been to drown the divine throne in the Abyss. The recent Dvalin incident was one of their manipulations: they intended to corrupt Dvalin with a curse and turn him into a weapon of war.

But to his surprise, not only did the corruption plan fail, the greatest obstacle turned out to be his own blood-related sister who had slumbered for centuries and had only just awakened.

What shocked him even more was that his sister was… getting married?!

He believed Lumine's journey of creation was far from complete, and yet she wanted to get married?

This twist was the hardest for Aether to accept.

"Are you sure you didn't mishear?"

Aether stared at the Abyss Mage prostrated at his feet, his voice carrying a chill that could not be ignored.

"Prince, I definitely didn't mishear… After we failed to disrupt the plan, I originally intended to monitor the Knights' next move from the shadows, but then I heard the news."

"At the time, Knights of Favonius personnel were all present. Your blood kin truly said so, and she even said she would invite the Knights to the wedding banquet."

Facing the youth on the throne, the Abyss Mage trembled uncontrollably.

Strange.

The Prince had been searching for his blood kin all these years. Now that there was finally a lead, not only was she living well, she was even heading toward a new, happy life.

But… why was His Highness so unhappy?

Aether clenched his teeth and gazed into the pitch-black Abyss, his voice icy.

"Lumine… Before the Abyss submerges the divine seat, there can be no peace between me and Celestia. Brother has high hopes for you. You are gentle yet strong—you would never make such a rash choice."

Based on his understanding of his sister, Aether gradually calmed down after a brief moment of anger, thinking this matter must be false.

But if it was false, why would Lumine say such a thing?

A bad premonition rose in Aether's heart.

"Is there anything else amiss on the Knights' side? This matter was resolved too quickly. That's not their usual efficiency."

Aether narrowed his eyes and asked.

The shivering Abyss Mage rasped, "According to our investigation, it seems… it seems related to someone with a great prophecy art. His name is Ken, and he foretold Mondstadt's wind calamity."

"So the Knights gained the initiative and handled things so swiftly. Also… your blood kin appears to have dealings with this person."

Hearing this, Aether's expression grew even colder.

"Fools! Why didn't you say this earlier?"

Aether suddenly realized that if this person truly possessed so-called great prophecy, then Lumine might already have learned his identity.

If so… Lumine declaring she would 'marry' might indeed be a provocation aimed at him.

"Y-You didn't ask either…"

The Abyss Mage looked miserable, not daring to move.

His Highness was unlike his usual self today, as if he might explode at any moment.

He had intended to mention Ken… but His Highness's thoughts were entirely on his blood kin, so he hadn't reported it immediately—only to be scolded now.

"Find a way to contact Lumine. I think she probably already knows who I am."

Aether made a snap decision.

Since Lumine might know his identity, a face-to-face talk had become necessary.

The journey of creation was her own. She could not abandon it halfway.

The next morning.

Ken arrived early at the luxurious villa granted by the system as a reward.

Last night, Barbara had delivered a letter in person. After a bit of flirting, she informed him that members of the Knights of Favonius would be coming as a group today.

The high-rise flat would be a bit cramped, so Ken came to the villa.

"The environment isn't bad."

The villa was a three-story Western-style house with about five hundred square meters of interior space. The front and back gardens were about eight hundred square meters each, lush with greenery and fragrant with flowers.

Ken brewed coffee and tea in the living room, and soon received a notification from the system.

Although he had previously said that contract partners could come and go freely, because Klee was bringing other guests, the system still carried out security reminders and checks.

"Let them in."

As Ken's words fell, a vortex gate appeared in the spacious, elegant living room.

Moments later, a flurry of long legs and small statures stepped out.

Jean, Lisa, Barbara, Amber, Kaeya, Eula—Venti and even Diluc had come as well.

Ken's gaze frankly fell on Eula.

Worthy of the title Genshin's top-tier legs, her long, fair legs were round and sleek. Black thigh-high lace-up boots wrapped up to her thighs. The tight knight's attire hugged her superb figure, her slimes—well-rounded and proudly high.

At the moment, she stood with arms crossed, ice-blue hair fluttering in the breeze, and her clear eyes taking in the surroundings with curiosity.

As expected of the Spindrift Knight—her figure was explosive.

Ken made no effort to hide his appreciation. By contrast, Kaeya standing beside Eula looked even more tanned.

"Daddy… let Klee introduce you!"

"This is big brother Albedo. He takes good care of Klee. Big brother Albedo… call him Daddy!"

While Ken was taking stock of everyone, little Klee held his hand, bouncing along as the self-appointed host, pulling him to Albedo.

The blond youth, with hair like shards of sunlight, looked a little embarrassed.

"Uh…"

Seeing Klee's excitement, Albedo didn't know what to say after holding it in for quite a while.

"Hehehe…" Lisa covered her lips with a playful laugh. "Don't tease him, little cutie. Albedo's face is going to turn red. Just call him 'uncle.'"

Albedo: "…"
