Chapter 55 - 055: The Maid of the Knights, Noelle—An Unexpected Visitor [Bonus]

Mondstadt's nights were quiet and peaceful. With the end of the dragon disaster, this city that revered freedom had returned to its former tranquility.

Ken strolled slowly through the city, quietly taking in his surroundings.

Wandering the otherworld like this wasn't boring at all. In fact, it was rather relaxing and leisurely, with even the wind carrying the intoxicating scent of windwheel asters.

Ken walked toward the Knights of Favonius headquarters.

Though it was late, the lights in the Knights' building were still on.

Because he had saved Mondstadt, all the Knights' guards recognized Ken's face and identity, so even at night, he entered smoothly.

"Is Jean still working overtime?"

This was Ken's first visit to the Knights' headquarters.

The layout and decor were just like in the game, only much larger. Following the lights, Ken reached an office on the second floor.

"Mr. K-Ken, sir?"

The young girl busy in the office was startled by his footsteps. When she saw his face, she couldn't help but look surprised.

As the hero who saved Mondstadt, Ken's portrait was no secret among the Knights.

Under the warm yellow light, the girl's delicate face was full of astonishment.

"Noelle?"

Seeing the adorable maid in front of him, Ken recognized her at once.

Her short silver hair swayed in the breeze, her emerald eyes were gentle and determined, her petite maid uniform hugged her graceful figure, and her cute face was tinged with red.

Noelle, the maid of the Knights of Favonius.

Also one of Mondstadt's two top grinders.

"Mr. Ken, is there anything I can help you with?"

She placed a hand over her chest, bowed slightly, and asked seriously.

She hadn't expected to meet the hero of Mondstadt while working late.

Noelle felt a bit excited.

"No, I just saw the lights on and came to look. Why are you still working so late, Noelle?"

Looking at the gentle Noelle before him, Ken felt a little emotional.

When he was a newbie in Genshin, Noelle had given him a lot of security.

She was even jokingly called "Geo Queen" by many players.

"After the storm, the Knights still have to clean up the aftermath… and there are still some tasks Captain Kaeya gave me that aren't done yet."

Noelle smiled without a trace of complaint—in fact, her tone was full of enjoyment at working overtime.

"It's late, try to rest earlier. I won't bother you anymore."

He knew this little maid wouldn't listen, but Ken still exchanged a few polite words before leaving.

Since it was late and everyone was resting, Ken didn't want to disturb anyone.

"Mr. Ken, may you have a wonderful night."

Watching Ken's departing back, Noelle's eyes shimmered.

This legendary hero was even more handsome than in his portrait.

Noelle's cheeks were rosy, and she was briefly lost in thought.

But soon, she threw herself back into her work.

...

Ken wandered around Mondstadt for a while, then returned to Bluestar to rest.

The night passed quickly.

Unlike the leisurely Mondstadt, the Magic City bustled with high-paced energy everywhere.

After a night of fermentation, Genshin Impact had fully gone viral.

Because Klee was the first companion invited, and was his daughter, the first rate-up in the character pool was little Klee.

So now, there were two trending topics about Klee.

The comments were also quite amusing:

["One 'la-la-la' and I spent 500 dollar!"]

This comment had over 200,000 likes, topping the hot list.

Ken scrolled through Twitter with a satisfied smile.

In Bluestar, where the entertainment and gaming industries lagged so far behind, making Genshin Impact a hit was just too easy.

After skimming through, Ken bought some breakfast and once again opened the Vortex Gate to Mondstadt.

With his new access to Teyvat, his sense of novelty was still strong.

He also wanted to give little Klee a surprise.

...

Morning air in Mondstadt was fresh, the breeze carrying the scent of grass.

Ken appeared out of thin air in the garden of a Mondstadt specialty shop.

"Ken?!"

Just woken up, Lumine was startled to see Ken appear suddenly, and took a while to react.

After all, these days Ken had only invited them to Bluestar; he hadn't come to Teyvat himself.

"What's so surprising? Go wake up Mona for breakfast."

Watching Lumine's slightly open mouth, Ken was in a great mood.

Five minutes later,

Lumine, Paimon, and Mona had all washed up and sat at the table, their big eyes sparkling with anticipation at the breakfast Ken brought.

"I can already smell the meat patties… Mr. Ken, hurry up and open it!"

Paimon floated beside Ken, long unable to wait.

What a foodie… Ken sighed helplessly, placing the breakfast on the table.

"It's sausage and egg muffins."

Mona exclaimed happily, her little tiger teeth showing, though her pride as a witch held her back from grabbing it like Paimon.

"Eat up, no need to be polite with me." Ken smiled, then looked at Lumine. "Why are you still in Mondstadt?"

Nibbling on her breakfast, Lumine wrinkled her nose and huffed, "Since my brother treated me like that, I'll make him worry for a while, so I'm staying in Mondstadt a bit longer."

Ken: "..."

As expected… Aether, you're on your own.

Just then, as the three were eating breakfast, brisk footsteps sounded outside the door.

Tap... tap... tap...

The crisp sound of high heels echoed clearly in the early morning shop.

Ken turned, frowning slightly.

Lumine and Mona's faces also grew serious and wary.
