Chapter 39 - Chapter 39 Mission Completed, Mapo Tofu (B-Rank), a Place

Li Wei's room.

Li Wei looked at the message popped up by the system.

"Ding! Feraligatr is satisfied with the skin management. Task objective (100/100). Task completed."

"Ding! Main quest 'Advancing Breeding House' Stage 1 has been completed. Rewards have been issued."

"Obtained random special dish — Mapo Tofu (B-rank)"

"Obtained Pokemon item lottery ticket * 1, random item — Skynet Monitoring System (usable)"

"Ding! Main quest Stage 2 'A Place of Our Own': Gain the approval of 1,000 customers (including Pokémon) for the Breeding Center (37/1,000)"

"Task rewards: Random item 1, random special dish 1, Pokemon item lottery ticket * 3"

"Task hint: Make customers genuinely believe that the Breeding Center is the best Breeding House/Breeding Center in Jubilife City."

Mapo Tofu (B-rank): Spicy and fragrant. After consumption, Special Attack ability receives a small permanent increase (only once). Subsequent consumption can temporarily increase it.

Daily production attempts (0/6)

Friendly reminder: Based on the host's current cooking level, there is a certain probability of failure.

By now, Li Wei had figured out the ranking system of the Special Dish Pokedex.

For example, for Mapo Tofu, B-rank was the minimum threshold.

Only by achieving B-rank would it be considered a success, but with good cooking skills, achieving A-rank was not impossible.

What was better than Crab Roe Lion's Head was that Li Wei had learned Mapo Tofu from his grandfather, so the success rate for replication was higher.

If he wanted to make Mapo Tofu, he would have to wait until tomorrow.

Li Wei looked at the random item rewarded by the quest, the Skynet Monitoring System, which sounded like a monitoring system from its name.

As the name implied, it was for surveillance.

Skynet Monitoring System: Can monitor all public areas of the Breeding Center, freely adjust perspective, zoom in or out.

A pop-up box appeared on the monitoring system's interface: [Do you want to use it?]

Li Wei chose yes.

A virtual miniature sandbox, visible only to Li Wei, appeared in the air, like a holographic image.

From a bird's-eye view, the gate on the west side leading to Jubilife City extended all the way west to the fence on the easternmost side.

Li Wei's eyes lit up as he examined the Skynet Monitoring System.

Even inside his room, Li Wei could clearly see a Luxray sleeping on a rock a kilometer away.

At this moment, the Luxray was napping in a 'farmer's tuck' posture, a snot bubble fluctuating in size, looking unexpectedly cute.

In the trees, two small Mankey were hanging from branches by their tails, fighting fiercely.

This was the Mankey vying for their status within the pack.

Around them, a group of Mankey excitedly waved their claws, looking like they enjoyed watching the commotion.

The Miltank diligently grazing in the evening was the roundest one.

His gaze shifted to the kitchen, where Comrade Leon was cooking himself seafood ramen instant noodles.

No wonder he was getting rounder!

Li Wei finally understood why his father worked diligently every day but didn't lose any weight.

It could only view public spaces; no private spaces could be viewed, which showed great respect for privacy.

"Lucario?"

Lucario, who was meditating cross-legged on the floor, suddenly looked up.

(How strange.)

"What's wrong?"

Lucario pressed his palm to the ground, a look of confusion in his eyes, (There's a strange feeling of being watched.)

Arcanine raised his head and looked around, but soon lay back down.

Metagross, meanwhile, was immersed in the ocean of knowledge, still studying the "metagross breeding manual" given by Steven.

Li Wei hadn't expected Lucario's senses to be so sharp. "Is there? I didn't feel anything."

But no matter how Lucario used his Aura to probe, he found no abnormalities, so he just took it as an illusion.

When Li Wei was monitoring the public areas, Lucario didn't feel any abnormalities.

Only when Li Wei tried to look into his own room did Lucario sense something amiss.

To confirm his idea, Li Wei looked at the kitchen again; Lucario had no reaction.

[It seems as long as I don't look into rooms, it's fine.]

He still had one Pokemon item lottery ticket in his backpack, so Li Wei chose to use it.

"Ding! Congratulations, Host, you have drawn a Dragon Scale."

Dragon Scales were not particularly valuable items; they would regularly shed from Dragon-type Pokemon like Dragonite, Salamence, and Garchomp.

But because this Dragon Scale was black, it caught Li Wei's attention.

Dragon Scale: A scale shed by Black Rayquaza, can be used for Seadra to hold for evolution, or for breeding Dragon-type Pokemon.

Li Wei retracted his previous statement; this Dragon Scale could be said to be quite valuable.

Black Rayquaza!

Li Wei recalled the black Mega Rayquaza that appeared in the Hoopa movie, which was incredibly powerful.

Li Wei didn't have any Dragon-type Pokemon yet; his favorites were Salamence and Dragapult.

Li Wei murmured softly, "If I get the chance, I can try to catch one."

Li Wei then looked at another quest, "I Really Didn't Want To Be An Up-Host"; his followers had already exceeded 80,000.

Stage 3 had two task objectives:

Account followers (80,259 / 100,000)

Million-view videos (4 / 5)

It seemed to be just around the corner.

Li Wei, full of fighting spirit, began editing "PokemonTrainer Employment Guide 05: Essential Oil Care."

Unconsciously, it was already 11:30 PM. After clicking upload, Li Wei stretched.

"Finally done, time to sleep!"

Li Wei's videos never contained content that couldn't pass review, so it showed as approved in a few minutes.

"Employment Guide 05 approved, upload successful."

Before Li Wei went to sleep, a message came back from his friend: [I'll find some time to come over these next few days.]

Li Wei had asked his friend for help, wanting her to bring her Milotic over.

Regarding the Feebas issue, Li Wei planned to follow his grandfather's and Qinglv's advice and communicate with Milotic or Feebas.

"Feeling good, time to sleep, Lucario, turn off the lights!"

"Lucario!"

...

The next day.

While washing up, Li Wei was looking at the comments and bullet screen comments for the fifth video.

The video began with Li Wei's narration:

"What I want to tell everyone in this episode is, don't buy a ton of essential oils and pile them up at home."

"Because essential oil care for Pokemon is a long process, and it's tiring."

"Also, Pokemon have different scent preferences, so everyone should purchase carefully. That's all."

"If you want to try it out, you can buy citrus, woody, or floral scents, just a small bottle.

Everyone can purchase them outside on their own; we're not taking ads here. Alright, let's get to the main topic."

Li Wei then scrolled down to the comment section.

"Nice!"

"I'm also an essential oil enthusiast. Everyone must use samples to try when selecting and purchasing..."

This episode was a bit niche, but the video's viewership was still good.

"Son, the guest is here, come out quickly!"
