Chapter 67 - Chapter 67: Mysterious Pokémon, Catch Them All

Jubilife City Downtown, Pokémon Center.

"Ding! Rare Pokémon detected in your vicinity."

"Type: Mythical Pokémon"

"Rarity: High"

"Capture Difficulty: Undetermined"

"Danger Level: Low"

Li Wei's advanced scanning skill detects Pokémon within a hundred-mile radius of him 24 hours a day.

The fact that it was only just detected means this Pokémon is quite far from Li Wei.

This was indeed the case; the Mythical Pokémon was on the outermost edge of the radar map, in the northern suburbs of Jubilife City.

Li Wei noticed that its movement speed was quite fast, constantly running towards the city center.

At this speed, Li Wei speculated it was being pursued.

Even if he didn't capture this Pokémon, going to see it and ascertain its situation was an option.

But then the problem arose: Li Wei hadn't brought any Pokémon with him.

Li Wei immediately dialed a number.

"Da You, if you're free, please send me Dragapult, Metagross, or Lucario. Whoever is available, send them."

Li Wei had also caught Dragapult, but it was only formally placed in a Poké Ball to prevent it from being randomly thrown a Poké Ball and caught by others.

Who knew if something disgusting like a 'one-ball rich dog' would appear?

"Alright, wait a moment."

"Joy, I'd like to receive some Pokémon."

"Please follow me."

Joy led Li Wei to the transfer machine.

The advantage of Li Wei living next to a Pokémon Center became apparent; even if Li Wei didn't carry Pokémon,

as long as there was a Pokémon Center nearby, or even just a Poké Ball transfer machine, Li Wei could get them to him immediately.

With five Luxury Balls in hand, Li Wei suddenly felt confident.

Because he was worried something might have happened to Li Wei, Da You sent over all the Pokémon that were at home.

Even Arcanine, who was out and about, was called back by Da You with a Snarl.

"What's going on?"

"Nothing, just want to explore the north side of Jubilife City. Still, it's better to have Pokémon with me."

"Oh, you should have said so earlier! I almost thought you were in trouble."

"If I were in trouble, I wouldn't be talking to you so leisurely."

"True."

"I should be back closer to evening. Please tell my parents that I passed my advanced assessment."

"As expected of you! Alright."

Li Wei's assessment this time was quite fast, finishing before noon.

He first called out Lucario.

"Lucario."

(What happened?)

"We're going to the northern suburbs of Jubilife City."

(I understand.)

After casually buying a bread, Li Wei and Lucario took the subway north towards Jubilife.

Because the video of Li Wei taking care of Garchomp was very popular on Eevee Net, Li Wei put on black sunglasses.

Next to him sat a young boy, who was playing that very video on his phone.

The boy was quite considerate, wearing headphones.

However, the boy, who kept his head down, didn't notice that the person next to him wearing black sunglasses was one of the protagonists of the video.

Li Wei kept an eye on the radar the whole way, and after gradually approaching the Mythical Pokémon, Li Wei got off at the station.

There were many passengers waiting, and they curiously looked at Li Wei, who was wearing sunglasses in the subway station.

Lucario by his side was also a point of attraction.

Li Wei walked to the northern suburbs of Jubilife City, which was close to the coast, and further north was Floaroma Town.

The morning sun was like fire, dispelling a trace of the winter chill.

Wingull soared over the northern sea, and the sea breeze from the north brought a hint of coolness.

Being in the suburbs, there were clearly many more wild Pokémon here than in the city.

Li Wei couldn't help but recall when he played the game, how the Professor or parents would repeatedly warn not to enter tall grass without Pokémon.

That statement indeed made sense.

"Come on out, everyone!"

Li Wei released Arcanine, Metagross, Dragapult, and Drakloak.

The light circle on the radar kept flashing, moving rapidly.

Having had the experience of finding Dragapult last time, based on the radar map display,

Li Wei judged that this Mythical Pokémon was nearby.

"Search around here for any fast-moving Pokémon, like they're running away."

Although confused by Li Wei's command,

they did whatever Li Wei told them to do.

"Grulu!"

"Kohkin!"

"Arf!"

Drakloak, Dragapult, and Metagross began searching from the sky.

(The power of Aura, resides within my heart.)

Lucario, with eyes closed, knelt on one knee, placing its palm on the ground, enveloped by a brilliant blue light.

The Aura gradually spread across the ground, and the surrounding scenery gradually reappeared in Lucario's mind.

"Kohkin!!!"

(It found it!)

Lucario also made a discovery; someone was indeed chasing a Pokémon.

"Metagross, take me there!"

Li Wei and Lucario leaped onto Metagross, which was flying at a low altitude.

"I didn't expect to find such a catch here. Ursaring, Hyper Beam!"

Just then, Drakloak was suddenly attacked!

The white pillar of light with super destructive power, being a surprise attack, successfully hit Drakloak,

however, Drakloak was unharmed.

"Doo-roo-loo~"

"Idiot, don't you know Drakloak is a Ghost-type?!"

"I thought it was only a Dragon-type. Who would know that?"

"How embarrassing. Do you even deserve to be a Pokémon Hunter?"

The white pillar of light in the sky quickly caught the attention of Dragapult and Li Wei.

(It must be Pokémon Hunters!)

Li Wei and Lucario had encountered Pokémon Hunters during their travels before.

In Li Wei's memory, the most famous was Hunter J.

In reality, this was a notorious poaching syndicate, using playing cards as codenames, and J was just one of them.

Li Wei immediately called the police.

"Near the coastline of the northern suburbs of Jubilife City, Pokémon Hunters are suspected to have appeared. Someone just suddenly used Hyper Beam on my Drakloak."

The operator said sternly: "Please do not act rashly, maintain contact at all times, we will dispatch immediately."

"Okay."

But Li Wei could no longer wait, because Dragapult was rushing towards Drakloak.

Li Wei could not sit idly by and let Dragapult and Drakloak face the Pokémon Hunters.

"You have a new side quest: Netting Them All."

Netting Them All (Optional): Bring the Pokémon Hunters to justice, assist Jenny in arresting all of them.

Quest Reward: Unknown.

"Lucario, how many people and how many Pokémon are there in total?"

Lucario closed its eyes and quickly replied:

"Eight people: Kangaskhan, Zubat, Drapion, Ursaring, Mightyena, Houndoom, Zangoose... fourteen Pokémon."

Fourteen Pokémon was quite a lot.

But except for Zubat, Li Wei had absolute air superiority.

Plus, the opponent used Hyper Beam on Drakloak,

it was clear they didn't understand Drakloak well.

He could try.

Not trying would be a disservice to the title of Super True Newcomer.

"Accept."

"Let's go help Drakloak!"
