Chapter 2 - Meeting the villain

Alya woke up hearing hushed whispers around her. She rubbed her eyes groggily, when memories flashed in her head, like a train track. She was in a novel.

She looks around the room to find the stern woman and the livid man, book Alya's parents. Her parents. They were not the only ones there. Beside them was a tall man speaking with her parents. He had raven black hair and dark brown eyes. She could have sworn she saw specs of gold in his eyes. Perhaps, that was the light messing with her. He wore a tight fitted black shirt with black pants. It was a simple outfit, yet she could not remove her eyes from him. He looked gorgeous. And, completely her type.

Tall? Check

Gorgeous? Check

Abs? Need to Check (He did seem the type to have abs)

There was one last thing missing from her checklist. Was he rich? That's when she noticed the rolex on his left hand.

Okay, that box could be now ticked off.

"I want to talk to her alone, father and mother in law." He said in a low and slightly deep voice.

After her parents left, he came closer to her. Too close. Alya could feel his warm minty breath. Her heart began to race rapidly, almost erratically. He was very gorgeous. She could not think straight. She could not think at all right now.

His hand softly grabbed her chin and his dark brown eyes stared back at her, "We will get married in two days, regardless of your tantrums," He said in a matter of fact tone.

Alya thought about her situation very carefully. She was currently Alya Santiago, rich spoiled brat. If she refuses the marriage, she will end up in the same situation the original Alya ended up. Maybe, even worse knowing her lock.

Alya decided that she will get married to Zak and live happily ever after. As long as she remained rich, that was considered a 'happy ending' in her eyes.

"Okay, I will marry you," said Alya, looking straight into Zak's eyes. She hoped he would believe her. The thing was Alya was afraid Zak may not believe her as the original book Alya detested Zak, throwing countless fits 'tantrums' which Zak had called them, including throwing the marriage gifts on the floor. Speaking of the marriage gifts, Alya was eager to see them. Was there gold? Jade? Houses? Villas? Cars?

Zak narrowed his eyes, distrustingly, yet nodded.

He did not believe her at all. He knew that she was still obsessed with that stupid jerk named Julian, who never paid her attention and fawned over a woman named Sasha, Alya's best friend.

"I'll believe you for now," said Zak softly. He really wanted to believe her, although he knew deep in his heart that she was lying.

"But, don't you dare think about going next to that jerk Julian or I will lock you in the house after we get married and never leave you out," said Zak commandingly. Zak was a man of his words. He would follow through with his threat and Alya knew it.

For some reason, she was not disgusted with the threat. She felt a little turned on. She found him breathtakingly gorgeous as he commanded her, his brows furrowed and his voice deep as he stared deeply in her eyes. He was possessive, and a small sick part of her liked it. Okay, a large part of her liked it. Loved it.

"I won't ever willingly seek out the jerk to see him. I promise," responded Alya softly. Zak titled his head slightly in confusion. Alya had never called Julian a jerk. She was becoming a more convincing liar, he thought to himself. He was secretly pleased at the insult Alya used, although he knew that it was a lie.

Alya realised that she needed an explanation for her current behaviour or Zak would believe that she is lying.

"My family really need you right now and our marriage will be beneficial to both sides. I will not seek any other man besides you." explained Alya. That should convince him, Alya, thought to himself.

Zak nodded, not completely believing her.

He kissed her forehead. He was reluctant to leave her yet had business matters to deal with.

"I'll see you at the wedding," he told a blushing Alya as he left the room.

Alya watched as he left the room and his footsteps faded away before squealing in her pillow and kicking her legs in the air. A gorgeous man had just kissed her. Well, kissed her on the forehead. She was elated.

Unlike book Alya, she was determined to have a happy ending with the villain.
