Chapter 63 - Consequences

All eyes turned as Lord Cadrien, once Theron's closest ally, stepped forward. His face was pale.

"I stood with him. I saw the plans with my own eyes. He promised me land and power if I helped him bring Vargorath to its knees. But I will not carry his shame any longer."

Gasps filled the hall.

Theron's face drained of color.

"How dare you, Theron," Marcellus said, his voice ringing through the hall like a blade striking steel. He rose from his seat, his eyes blazing with fury. "I never thought you capable of treachery so vile, of causing such chaos among your own kind."

The hall fell into silence. Even the murmurs died as all waited for Theron's reply.

Theron's face darkened.

"Lies," he said. "This is nothing but a plot to ruin me. Forged letters, false tokens you think I would betray my own kind? I am Alpha of Silverfen I would never bow to rogues."

"You promised me loyalty, Theron," Thornak said, his voice cold. "And yet you betrayed every oath you swore."
