Seralyn stirred under the pale blue sheets as the morning sun slipped through the curtains. She blinked a few times before realizing there was someone beside her.
Kael lay there, only inches away, smiling at her.
She froze.
Her eyes dropped to the hand under the covers between her legs and then followed it up his arm to his familiar face. Her cheeks turned bright pink.
Kael's grin widened. "Good morning, my love," he said softly.
Seralyn blinked fast, still half in shock. "Prince Kael… what are you doing here?"
He brushed a finger along her cheek, and she flinched a little at the touch. "Just watching the prettiest woman in Vargorath wake up," he said. "It's the best way to start the day."
Her eyes narrowed, but her blush deepened. "Your hand is between my legs."
Kael looked at her with mock innocence. "You pulled me in after midnight. I'm the victim here."
"I did not!" she said quickly, but her voice sounded unsure.
