Thornak crouched and ran his hand under the bed. At first he felt only dust. Then his fingers brushed something and he pulled it out.
It was a small dark bottle.
He lifted it toward the light. It was empty.
He didn't know what it was, but he knew it mattered.
He turned to Kael, who was searching the other side of the room. "Kael. Look at this."
Before he could respond, Ruvan and Dorian walked into the room, pulling two beaten guards with them. Dain followed close behind them.
"They were hiding in the north tower," Dain said, pushing one guard to his knees. "Behind the siege crates. It Looked like they were trying to stay hidden and find a way to escape."
"They have something to tell you," Ruvan said, his voice low.
The guards were shaking. Their faces looked pale. One had blood on his lip — clearly they had beety questioned already.
Thornak stepped forward. His body shifted into his half-Lycan form, his muscles stretching and his eyes burning gold.
