The only moment that truly cost Kael anything was the instant he reached out and seized Leavanny mid-movement.

To the other Pokémon watching, it looked as if Kael had simply reached out once—

Only now, as Leavanny sank into a blazing inferno, did the rest of the nightmare squad's support finally arrive.

Heavy footsteps shook the ground.
A furious roar followed, saturated with raw sound pressure.
Nidoking charged.
Its massive body thundered forward like a living siege engine, purple armor gleaming as it barreled across the terrain with unstoppable momentum.
Infected by the Nightmare Seed, Nidoking's mind was already fractured—but under the crushing killing intent Kael had released moments earlier, whatever restraint remained completely collapsed.
It didn't care about its burning teammate.
It didn't even see Leavanny anymore.
Its bloodshot eyes locked onto Kael alone, madness boiling within them.
One thought dominated its consciousness:

His right arm drew back.
Rock-solid muscle stacked and compressed, steel-hard and terrifyingly precise. Power surged through his veins, blood roaring so hot that thin white steam curled off his dark-violet skin.
His right leg stepped back to anchor his stance.
CRACK.
The ground beneath his foot split, fractures spider-webbing outward.
Bare back muscles rolled and rose, shoulder blades bulking like layered armor forged from flesh.
By the time Nidoking reached him—
The glowing Megaton Punch was already descending.
Kael's heart pounded.
Heat surged.
A grin crept onto his face.
He aimed his fist straight at the incoming blow.
Power gathered.
Muscles locked.
And—
He punched.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Invisible pressure barriers shattered as the air screamed under the strain. Condensed vapor clouds spiraled violently around Kael's fist, forming layered sonic bursts from the sheer force behind the strike.
Then—
Impact.
The world froze.
The collision detonated like a missile strike, shockwaves ripping outward in expanding rings.
Kael's dark-violet arm bulged violently as unimaginable power erupted from it.
The blinding white energy of Megaton Punch shattered on contact, exploding into scattered fragments of light.
Nidoking's thick arm armor cracked—
Then collapsed.
Shell.
Muscle.
Bone.
All pulverized.
The limb twisted grotesquely, reduced to a mangled ruin incapable of bearing weight.
Nidoking howled.
Blood sprayed violently across its body.
Its massive, tank-like frame was launched backward, torn from the ground by a single punch, crashing through the air as a rain of crimson scattered behind it.
But Kael wasn't finished.
His leg detonated against the ground, blasting a crater inward.
THUD.
He vanished.
A heartbeat later—
Kael appeared above Nidoking mid-air, overtaking it with pure physical force.
His hands clasped together. Fingers interlocked.
Both arms rose overhead like a descending warhammer.
Then—
He brought them down.
WHOOSH—
The air shrieked as it split apart, shattered wind scattering in violent spirals.
The blow landed cleanly on Nidoking's armored skull.
CRACK.
A sound so sharp and final it froze the battlefield.
Bone fragments exploded outward.
Blood and matter splashed through the air.
The massive body dropped—
—and another corpse was born.
