Chapter 1 - Happy people (#1)

Within a small island, all surrounded by sea a child was playing alone, the sea was unusually calm. His parents nowhere to be seen, the child raven haired with small freckles on his face drew on the sand, his drawings while primitive was surprisingly detailed.

The drawing was that of a large figure, body was jointed like a bugs but it was human in shape, the body was muscular or at least thats how it seemed, the face was indescribable, it looked unfinished. Suddenly the child looked behind, a black woman with braided hair, slightly blond of color waved her hand the child quickly ran towards her and hugged her.

"Mom' the child said

'This is where you have been? haha what were even doing alone?' the mother questioned

"I have been drawing in the sand" the child said, his voice happy and innocent.

"Drawing? drawing what?' the mother said questioned

The child dragged his mother, with all his strength. The mother simply giggled, "wow you're so strong Nathan" the child however remained serious as the mother eventually just walked. When they arrived at the scene, near a shore of rocks the mother looked intrigued, she squatted and looked at the drawing, the mother looked behind her seemingly she was looking at nothing, nothing but the seemingly infinite ocean that is, "what a wonderful drawing, but" the mother paused, "why did you draw this, like where did you get the inspiration?'

Nathan smiled, "I think i saw it my dream, or maybe in real life. I dont know though, it could have been me feeling sick again or' the child pointed at his ear, within the back of his ear was a strnage chip like device, slight spherical shaped but not entirely. "maybe my chip is malfunctioning?' the child said

The mother had a look of worry, she still smiled, 'Yes" the mother paused again, looking behind again, "Perhaps your father should see it, its been a while"

The child suddenly frowned, the mother then said, "oh dont worry, why are you so worried? you know you will live for weeks even if that chip is destroyed, besides." the mother examined the strange device, as small as a coin, "it dosent look damaged in any way' the mother assured her child.

Both walked until they reached the house, it was was rather nice house, it was wooden, its primary color was red, though the roof was blue, infront of the house was a wooden table with a large umbrella for cover, a man, raven haired wearing a tanktop and a trouser, his ethnicity looked to be caucasian. "there you are!" the mane exclaimed, "Nathan buddy, where have you been? why are you ignoring your chores" the man said jockingly, the man hugged nathan and both of them laughed, the mother said, "Nathan thinks somethings wrong with his chip", the man looked at his wife and said , "what? strange, it shouldnt be needing any fixing for at least a month"

'Hm' The woman nodded, "nathan says he has been seeing things, like a giant figure" Upon hearing this the man looked worried.

"oh, well we cant have that" the father looked at his son, "what did the giant looked like champ?"

"It was, uhhh huge and uhh, i couldnt see its face properly cause it was night but i think its eyes looked weird, like a cows' Nathan said trying to remember

The father sighed, "well, I will see what i can do come inside"

"actually, the suns gonna set soon, i think its better to do it outside, you know so he can enjoy the view, i will get the light if you cant see properly' The mother suggested, nathan nodded and looked at his father with puppy dog eyes.

"Sure' The father went in and got some tools, nathan and his mother looked at the red sun, while nathan looked happy but his mother had a tired expression, she almost looked scared but of what?

The used his tools, he only opened the chip and put it back in, "nothings wrong with your chip" said the father as he sat besides the mother, "perhaps you need eat more"

Nathan nodded, as the sun set they went inside the house, the interior was wooden floor, it was cozy and warm, nathan and his father sat down at the dining table, beside the window. The mother was near a machine, looked to resemble a 3d printer. She typed a few words and amazingly the machine produced 3 plates of food looked to be a type of thick stew which appeared in the 3 bowls already placed, the family ate the food joking smiling, they were happy people, the only people within this island really. When it was 10 o'clock they went in their rooms, the mother and father slept in the same room the same bed, nathan went to his room without saying anything. He felt tired, only wanting to sleep to escape into nothingness, the sweet feeling of not existing. Nathan looked out the window, the light of the full moon shined the unnaturally calm ocean, she kept looking at the moon and at the ocean, how much time passed he didnt know, but he thought his parents were asleep, he lazily turned around to see it was 12 o'clock, he smiled and got out through the window beside his bed.

he wore shoes before he got out, the wind was howling immediately the footprints of his vanish cause of the wind, he had been doing this for a while and not once he was caught, though at times he suspected his parents knew, but didnt care for they had trust in him to stay safe. The child simply walked along the shore line, making sure he wasnt too close, he stood still, looking up at the clear skies he could see so many stars, he closed his eyes and embraced the wind, he felt at ease, not a care in the world, just a happy child.

"The wind in this place sure is cool isnt it?" suddenly the kid jolted, he nearly fell, he looked around him not knowing where the voice came from, "hm? Im here" the kid finally looked far away, a few feet away from him there was a large rock, a rock in which a strange man was sitting, his face he couldnt make out properly, but his eyes looked beautiful and innocent like a cows, his skin was perfect, it had imperfections and body hair, he wore a white shirt one which was stitched together and a pair of grey pants.

"who are you?" nathan questioned, harboring strnage feelings, feelings eh could not describe, the feeling of fear it was.
