"It is essential," I said, my voice quiet and smooth. "I quite simply wanted to have a look at the weak spots of mother's body..." My fingers rotated in the soft skin underneath her collarbone, causing her to tremble with pleasure. "So that your safety will be ensured when the baby arrives."
She gasped, her eyes going from fear to terror - true, pure fear.
"Y-you have seen it, haven't you?" I asked, my voice getting softer and showing a little bit of sympathy, "Death during delivery. Women are dying from severe bleeding. Infants who turn out to be no longer alive even before their first breath is taken..."
Agatha's face turned white as a sheet, and her lower lip quivered. "Y-yeah..." she said in a barely audible, broken voice. "In the tribe I lived in before… with my man… I saw it happen." Her breath shuddered. "Women screaming… so much blood… and then—" Her voice cracked. "Then silence."
I nodded my head and just a bit squeezed her throat—I just did that to make her focus on me.
