Chapter 308 - The Doctor's Dilemma

I turned back toward the door, my fingers curling into a fist before I knocked—three sharp, deliberate raps. The response came instantly, smooth and accented, "Please come in."

I pushed the door open just enough to slip inside, my eyes immediately locking onto Dr. Anya Volkov. She sat behind her desk, her posture regal, her long, platinum blonde hair cascading over one shoulder like liquid silver.

The two nurses flanked her, their expressions shifting from professional calm to alertness the moment they saw me.

One of the nurses stepped forward, her voice firm but polite. "Sorry, sir, but this clinic is strictly for female patients. Male patients are seen next door." Her tone left no room for argument, her eyes flicking to Anya as if seeking reinforcement.

I kept my gaze fixed on Anya, letting my expression flicker with hesitation. "That… I'm sorry," I stammered, my voice carefully laced with desperation.
