In just three strides, he was in front of her. There was absolutely no warning or even his usual command spoken because what he did next wasn't something Mira could have thought of.
One moment, she was seated there, and the next her world was tilting so suddenly as his hard arm hooked under her waist and under her knees, then lifted her up so effortlessly like she weighed nothing at all.
"Hey… Hey!" Mira shrieked loudly as she started to flail against him. "What the hell, are you crazy? Put me down!"
But she was already over his shoulders like he was some sort of caveman and was already walking toward the entrance, his hold never faltering on her body.
