Chapter 12 - Dancing With the Wild Boar King

Miguel's eyes skimmed over the skill descriptions on the Wild Boar King's stat panel, his lips curving in a faint, amused smile.

[Call Minions]: When the Wild Boar King's HP drops below 50%, it will forcibly summon two wild boars to its side every 30 seconds for the next five minutes.

[Berserk]: When HP falls below 20%, the Wild Boar King senses imminent danger. It sacrifices 1% of its health every second to gain +100% Movement Speed, +100% Defense, and a terrifying +500% Attack Power.

For an average player, these were nightmare-inducing skills. A badly timed charge, a few extra adds summoned mid-fight, and an entire raid party could be wiped out in seconds. But to Miguel, this wasn't a threat—it was an opportunity. More summons meant more attribute points to harvest. With his absurd agility stats, unless he was completely surrounded by dozens of mobs, none of these adds posed any real threat to him.

He glanced back at the snorting beast, his smile widening. "Twenty seconds… do I even need that long to kill you?"

The Wild Boar King glared at him with bloodshot eyes full of pure hatred. A guttural roar ripped from its throat, and then it moved. Despite its massive size, its speed was breathtaking. Ordinary level 10 players couldn't even dream of matching half that pace.

And the boss wasn't holding back—it immediately unleashed Savage Charge, doubling its speed once more. Its hulking body barreled through the forest like an armored tank, tusks gleaming like blades. Trees became little more than kindling, cracking and toppling as the beast plowed through them without slowing.

But for Miguel, this was nothing. "Too slow," he muttered, stepping lightly to the side as if avoiding a lazy punch.

BOOM!

The Wild Boar King smashed through yet another tree, only stopping thanks to the recoil. Spinning around, it found Miguel standing there calmly, smiling at it like he was toying with a child. The boss let out a furious squeal and launched itself again, determined to crush this infuriating human into paste.

Miguel shook his head, almost disappointed. With another casual sidestep, the colossal beast missed entirely. As it barreled past, Miguel lunged forward. His blade flashed twice in under a second.

"-1085!"

"-1085!"

The numbers flared in the air, stripping two thousand HP from the boss instantly. And this was him holding back—he could easily have landed four strikes in the same time and ended the fight right there. But Miguel wasn't in a rush. He wanted to see the other skills in action.

The Wild Boar King's health dipped below half, triggering the expected mechanic.

A guttural roar echoed through the clearing as two beams of white light descended, summoning a pair of wild boars beside the boss. With another snort, the king commanded them forward. All three monsters charged Miguel together, a stampede of muscle and fury.

Miguel chuckled. "Perfect… another handful of free points."

He blurred out of sight, reappearing in front of one of the smaller boars. His sword moved twice.

"-1085!"

"-1085!"

Two sharp system chimes followed, and both summons dropped lifelessly at his feet before they even understood what had happened.

The Wild Boar King's rage intensified, its furious roars shaking the trees. It charged again and again, but Miguel danced around every attempt, his movements fluid and untouchable. Every thirty seconds, another pair of adds spawned… and every time, they died within a heartbeat.

Five minutes passed in this deadly ballet. By the end, ten summons had appeared, and ten had been mercilessly cut down, their glowing corpses feeding Miguel's ever-growing reservoir of attribute points.

Behind a nearby bush, another player watched with wide eyes and a slack jaw.

This… what the hell am I witnessing? thought Stormhunter, a professional player from the prestigious Godslayer Guild, one of the top gaming organizations rivaling the Luo Tian Guild in fame and resources.

Stormhunter had been in Godmaking Online for a month already, lucky enough to awaken the Legendary Talent: Child of the Forest. In woodland areas, all his attributes received a 50% boost, and his health and regeneration rate were increased by a staggering 200%. On top of that, unless he attacked first, forest mobs completely ignored him, making him the perfect scout.

The guild leadership had tasked him with exploring the starter village's massive forest map, convinced that hidden treasures or powerful secrets were buried here. Once players moved to the main city, returning to these early maps would be impossible. Stormhunter was their best shot at uncovering opportunities.

He had been quietly investigating the boar territory when the World Boss Announcement went out. Curious, he'd slipped over to the coordinates, intending to observe and gather intel.

What he found left him utterly dumbfounded.

Before his eyes, Miguel was making a mockery of a world boss designed to challenge entire raid parties. His speed was unnatural, his damage outrageous. He was toying with the monster like it was a training dummy.

No way… this isn't a player. This has to be some kind of cheat. Nobody, nobody can do this legit! Stormhunter's scalp prickled as he struggled to comprehend what he was seeing.

He gritted his teeth. Damn it, I'm reporting this. The devs swore up and down that Godmaking Online was unhackable. If this guy isn't hacking, I don't know what is!

His mental rant was cut short by a loud crash. The Wild Boar King had launched yet another charge, but this time Miguel didn't sidestep into open space—he moved slightly, leaving the boss barreling straight toward Stormhunter's hiding place.

"Oh, crap!"

Before Stormhunter could react, the monstrous beast crashed through the undergrowth.

A blinding flash of white light enveloped him, his HP shredded in a single 600-damage hit. He didn't even have time to curse properly before his vision went black.

Respawning… Returning to Starter Village.

Back in the forest clearing, Miguel raised a brow, watching the spot where the unlucky onlooker had been. "Huh… there was someone hiding there? Well, guess the boss found him before I did."

He gave a small shrug, his attention turning back to the enraged Wild Boar King. "Now… where were we?"
