Now, here I was, rudely yanked from dreamland by this persistent caller.
I opened my eyes slowly—groggy slits at first—then shut them back tight against the blinding glare from the screen.
Ow, retina burn.
After some seconds, I opened my eyes again as I adjusted to the light and squinted at the phone to check who the hell was ruining my morning.
It was an unknown number.
I frowned, as my brow started knitting together.
Who the fuck is this bastard???
How did an unknown number get my digits?
I groaned, my finger hovering over the answer button.
Unknown number? At this ungodly hour?
This better be the lottery commission telling me I've won a billion, or heads are rolling.
