"Shh."
Jiraiya brought a finger to his lips, his eyes darting around shiftily as he said, "Watch what you say here. That guy has eyes and ears all over the Land of Waves."
"That exaggerated?" Ōnoki asked suspiciously.
"Possibly even more exaggerated than that. Every word we say is under his watch," Jiraiya replied casually.
"You must be joking?" Hiruzen Sarutobi unconsciously drew a sharp breath.
"Well, that's just what I heard from others," Jiraiya scratched his head and said with a laugh. "But it never hurts to be careful."
With that, he led the two Kage to his workplace.
They passed orderly cattle sheds, neat pig pens, and clean horse stalls. Hiruzen braced himself for the expected barnyard stench, but was instead met with a faint, surprisingly sweet smell of fresh milk and hay.
"I need to make one thing clear" Jiraiya said, standing by the cattle shed and leaning on a pitchfork. "Since you've been sent here, you'll definitely be put to work."
Hiruzen and Ōnoki exchanged a glance, their eyebrows rising in unison.
"Everyone here, whether prisoner or employee... gets work points for their labor," Jiraiya explained.
"Work points?"
"They're calculated based on your daily work efficiency and results. Every hundred points can be exchanged for one thousand ryo."
"Even for people like us?"
"Yes. The Land of Waves doesn't withhold anyone's hard-earned rewards," Jiraiya affirmed with a nod. "But your daily food expenses will be recorded and deducted when you're released."
"You can do that?..."
The two old men exchanged glances. This novel prison management model was truly an eye-opener.
Making prisoners work was one thing, but actually paying them?
In the eyes of Hiruzen and Ōnoki, this was downright idiotic. Does the Land of Waves have too much money to burn?
"Since you're new here, I won't start you with anything too complicated," Jiraiya paused before continuing. "For the next few days, you'll be temporarily feeding Shiro"
"Shiro?" Hiruzen Sarutobi looked puzzled.
"Well, that's Shiro right there," Jiraiya pointed at the black sow in the pig pen.
"???"
Hiruzen Sarutobi and Ōnoki both widened their eyes, unable to suppress a sharp breath.
A black sow named freaking Shiro (which means 'white')? What was Jiraiya thinking?
'A sow! This is a freaking sow!'
*Land of Waves, Main Office.*
"Looks like transferring him to the farm was the right move after all," Kushina said, her gaze fixed on the screen on the wall, a tone of amusement in her voice. "Jiraiya sensei seems to be really enjoying himself."
"He named a black sow 'Shiro' is he okay?" Mikoto's eye twitched as she spoke.
"I think it's great, very distinctive," Yuto said with a slight smile, turning his attention to the computer screen on his desk.
He opened the game 'Valley of the End' and clicked on the ranked match interface in the upper right corner.
"Can you really get me to Gold Rank in one afternoon?" Kushina asked skeptically.
"Don't worry, this game has hidden mechanics... win streaks can make you skip divisions," Yuto replied with a laugh.
As he finished speaking, he entered the hero selection screen for the match.
Without hesitation, he instantly locked in Tsunade, Kushina's most frequently used hero.
"It's that damn 'TinyMeow' again!" Kushina glared at the opponent's Two-Tails player's ID, gritting her teeth. "That's the one! Their matatabi (two tails) is ridiculously annoying! Naruto and I got completely wrecked by them last time!"
"Relax, this round I'll teach them a lesson," Yuto said, a confident smile spreading across his face.
Unlike Kushina, who played Tsunade in the bottom lane, or the guide he wrote recommending her for the top lane, Yuto's Tsunade went straight for the jungle role (neutral area between lanes).
At level three, he ganked from behind, teaming up with the support to instantly delete the Two-Tails under their tower. At level six, he learned her ultimate technique and used Tsunade's 'Heavenly foot of pain' to stun four enemies, then finished with the area-of-effect damage from Monstrous Strength Punch to secure a pentakill.
Whoa.
The opponents stood no chance after that; they basically died the moment they showed themselves.
Even the Uchiha Madara on the top lane, who activated his Susano'o, got punched into oblivion.
"Holy crap, is that how you're supposed to play Tsunade?" Kushina's eyes nearly bulged out of her head as she watched, gasping in amazement. "Why didn't you tell me this earlier?"
"Don't copy me. The orthodox way is still the top lane," Yuto sighed. "I got ahead by exploiting an information gap and managed to steal the enemy's camps."
"Are you implying I'm bad again?" Kushina frowned, grabbed his head with both hands, and pretended to bite him. "I'll bite you to death!"
Amid the cheerful chaos in the office, the word "VICTORY" appeared on the computer screen.
—
Meanwhile, in a two-story apartment in the southern district, Yugito Nii stared furiously at the blood-red word "DEFEAT" on her screen, her teeth gritted in frustration.
She lost?
She actually lost?
Her 19-win streak was ended, her 20th win gone?
"How could this happen!"
'Why!'
Taking a deep, angry breath, Yugito clicked on the profile of this "Nanako" to check their match history.
Previous matches were a solid block of red defeats, with only this latest one being a crushing victory! This player was usually the type to end with zero kills, so how did they suddenly become so overpowered?
'Cheater'!
She was certain that "Nanako" was cheating!
Damn it!
Knock knock knock.
Just as Yugito was fuming, ready to stomp her feet in anger, a series of urgent knocks sounded at her door.
"Coming, coming!" Yugito yelled irritably towards the door, slipped on her sandals, and walked over.
Creeeak.
The door opened.
A dark-skinned, muscular man stood outside, head bowed, speaking flatly. "This is 405, right? Your delivery is here."
Yugito didn't respond immediately. Her pupils trembled slightly, her expression one of shock. "R-Raikage-sama?"
That's right.
The dark-skinned man standing outside her door was the Fourth Raikage himself!
Unlike Ōnoki and Hiruzen Sarutobi, who were assigned to the farm, he and the Fourth Mizukage, Yagura, were given the job of "delivery personnel."
Logically, being involved in this kind of mobile work, why hadn't he tried to escape the country?
The reason was simple, he wore a wristband that allowed for real-time tracking and positioning. Even a slight deviation from the delivery route would trigger an alarm, and failure to correct it promptly would result in... electroshock therapy.
How the hell are you supposed to run away under these conditions?
Hearing her form of address and familiar voice, A (the Raikage) also looked up in surprise. "Yugito? You're here... what's your situation?"
"U-under... confinement," Yugito stammered, her face reddening as she glanced away. "Hayashi Yuto is a complete scumbag! Not only did he extract the Two-Tails from me, but he's also obsessed with my beauty!"
"Are you serious?"
"Of course! Why wouldn't you believe me, Lord Raikage?"
"You're supposedly confined, yet you can still order delivery? How the hell am I supposed to believe that?"
