Xavier tucked the pendant beneath his shirt, then pulled his hood over his head. He smirked knowingly at Lucien. "See? No one will recognize me. Just a man taking his woman out for ice cream."
Athena rolled her eyes but her chest tightened at his words.

She shook her head, muttering, "You're ridiculous."
Xavier didn't bother hiding the warmth in his gaze as he held his hand out for her. "Maybe but I keep my promises, little one. Now… shall we go claim your dessert and my kiss?"
