The morning light did little to soften the cold expression on Seo-jun's face. He stood immobile as the butler helped him into a sharply tailored black suit, the fabric as dark and unyielding as his mood.
The door creaked open and a small voice piped up. "Father?"
In an instant, the ice in Seo-jun's eyes thawed. He turned and knelt, his arms opening. "Ha-ru. Come here."
The little boy ran into his embrace. Seo-jun lifted him effortlessly, holding him close. "Did my prince sleep well?"
"Yes!" Ha-ru giggled, wrapping his arms around Seo-jun's neck. "I dreamed we were flying on a big dragon!"
Seo-jun managed a genuine, soft smile. "We'll fly tonight in our dreams again. For now, let's go eat. I'm hungry for pancakes with my best boy."
