Chapter 40 - CHAPTER 40: UNEXPECTED LORE?

The room is heavy with silence, the kind that feels like a thousand years pressing down on your chest. Flux sits upright now, but his eyes are still dim from everything he has just learned. White's aura glows faintly, telling everyone this is not a casual conversation.

---

White: voice low but echoing in the chamber

"They started to destroy the territories of the Gods, Divines and Angels…"

Flux: brows furrowed, tilting his head "Territory??"

White: nodding slowly, like a teacher guiding a child through forbidden knowledge

"They had many things, Flux. Not just castles or lands. Each high being owned entire realms, fifty or more. Endless skies. Oceans of starlight. Each realm had its own army… its own laws… its own rulers."

White:

"And inside those realms stood the strongest of the strong — ten guardians per realm, each one capable of erasing planets. The twenty beings knew this. That's why they started by annihilating the realms first."

---

Everyone in the room falls silent. The scale of what White describes feels too large to even comprehend. Flux's pupils contract slightly, as if his instincts already know this story.

---

[White's voice fades into a vision – the audience "sees" the ancient war]

Black skies tearing apart. Realms collapsing like glass. Ten guardians screaming as the twenty beings descend like living comets. Worlds shatter. Oceans rise. Mountains burn. It's not just a war — it's the end of an era.

---

Narration (White):

"After almost one quadrillion years of annihilation… only a few remained.

Five… maybe ten of each race.

Gods.

Divines.

Angels.

They were once infinite. Now they were… insects before the storm."

---

White:

"And then… something happened. The twenty beings stopped killing them."

Flux: eyes widening "Huh? Why? Why would they stop if they were winning?"

White: looks away, shadows crossing his face

"They didn't want to stop… but they needed to. Some things… even for them… cannot be crossed."

---

Flux: frustrated "What the… Why do we need to wait more? Why won't you just tell me now?!"

White: raises a hand, calm but firm "You'll understand later. But let me ask you something first, Flux."

Flux: confused "Huh? What do you mean?"

White:

"What I'm saying is… remember what I promised you?"

Flux: blinks "Huh? Oh… you mean… when you said you had something I needed, right?"

White: smirks faintly "Exactly. Want to know?"

---

Mike: nudging Flux "Flux… this is the time, right? Ask him."

Flux: hesitating, biting his lip "…But—"

Mike: "But what?"

White: soft laugh, no malice "I know it's confusing. But I have my reasons, you know."

Flux: deep breath, eyes narrowing "Huff… okay. Tell me."

---

White: steps closer, aura flaring, voice suddenly solemn

"Hehe… the thing you want, Flux… is to know who you are.

And… who your parents are. Right?"

---

Mike: turning to Flux, stunned "What?! Really, Flux?!"

Flux: hands trembling "Y-Y-Yeah… To be honest… I knew Miss Ixia was not my real mother since I was five."

Ixia: eyes widening, shocked "What?! That fast?"

Flux: nods, speaking slowly as if reliving it

"Yes… because when I fell from three stairs that time, Mom was panicking so, so much.

But when I looked into her eyes… I didn't feel like she loved me like her son. It felt like she was… prioritizing me. Protecting me. Like a duty… more than a bond. I couldn't explain it back then, but I could feel it."

---

Ixia: voice shaking "Huh? But why would I not prioritize you? Flux, I—"

Flux: quickly "Mom… I'm not saying you didn't love me. I'm saying… somehow I felt your inner feeling."

White: softly, reassuringly "Ahh… it's okay, Ixia. What he feels… is his nature. Don't worry."

---

White: turning to Flux "Okay. Now I'll tell you. But can you really believe it if I do?"

Flux: closes eyes, inhales "I'll try."

White: nods "Good. Then understand, please."

---

The room goes silent again. White's silver hair glows faintly like moonlight. Alicia lowers her gaze, her hands trembling. Even Vantres and Zygord seem tense, like they already know what's coming but don't dare say it.

---

White:

"A long time ago… when the war of Secterism ended… only ten legends were alive.

And two of those legends… fell in love. Not just any love. A love forged in countless battles, where one was the ultimate offense, and the other the ultimate defense.

They were perfect together.

And eventually… they had a child."

Flux's breath catches. He doesn't dare blink.

---

White:

"That child's name… was Flux.

But when he was born… his potential was too, too, too much to be contained. If they wanted to save him, they had to hide him.

So they sealed his potential. Gave his care to their most loyal servant — Ixia — and sent them both to Earth."

White's voice cracks slightly, his hands curling into fists.

---

White: looking directly into Flux's eyes

"And the names of those legends… were Arie White and Grace Alicia."

---

Mike & Hidorī: simultaneously, stunned "S-So that means…?!"

Flux: voice trembling "A-Are you really telling the truth, or—"

White: shakes head firmly "Nope. I'm not lying. I'm telling the whole truth. I can even prove it."

Flux: breathless "H-How? Prove it!"

---

White: counts on fingers

"First — your hair. Same as mine.

Second — your eyes. The heart-shaped symbol comes from Alicia's eyes.

Third — you ask why Fruxiya's symbol is a sword, not ruby like yours? She inherited my attack power. And she's not your biological sister.

Fourth — you never rejected Alicia's words when she told you to trust her. That's your natural bond to your mother."

---

Mike: whispering "So Flux… you're actually—"

Flux: cutting him off, voice breaking "W-Wait… so my real mom is an Angel?!"

White: tilts head "Hmm… you could call it that."

Flux: turning to Ixia, eyes filled with confusion and gratitude "Huh? Mom… is this real?"

Ixia: nodding softly, tears forming "Hmm… yes. Will you believe it?"

Flux: staggering back, clutching his chest "What the—"

The room shakes faintly as Flux's emotions flare. Alicia takes a hesitant step toward him, her face caught between joy and guilt. The air is thick, like just before a storm.
