Chapter 6 - Adapting

Ellie walked in, but she wasn't alone today.

"Axel, this is Samantha. She'll be coming by from time to time to help out. You'll be seeing her around a lot."

She wore a school uniform — a white blouse, a dark blue blazer, and a black skirt that ended just above her knees.

"Why did you bring her with you?"

Ellie sat down.

"Well...I told your father I'd be visiting every day since you might be feeling lonely. So he thought it'd be a good idea to hire someone your age to keep you company."

That pathetic excuse for a father. Never showed his face when I was lying in a hospital bed, and now he thought he could just step in and meddle.

Maybe he got scared I would steal his wife. Well… that was the plan.

"You lied to me!"

I let the hysteria show, just enough to twist the guilt in her chest.

"I really thought you weren't like the others… but you're just abandoning me too."

Her eyes glowed again as she gently touched my forehead.

"Okay, I'll visit you,"

I sent Samantha off to get a few things, mainly so I could be alone with Ellie.

"Aunty." My voice came out quiet, almost like a kid who didn't have the strength to smile. "Can you sing for me?"

"Sing? What kind of song?"

"Anything," I replied. "Your favorite."

Her eyes lit up, sweeping away every trace of hesitation. She began to hum, awkward at first, but the tune soon flowed naturally.

I asked her to keep going, just to see how far I could push it. She didn't stop until I told her to.

"Can you tell me a joke?"

Without pausing, she let out an awkward giggle.

"You know what they call a medical student who finishes last in their class?"

"What?"

"A doctor!"

None of her jokes were actually funny, but she kept going—and soon, I was the one getting embarrassed.

I decided to ask her for other things instead, and little by little, she started following even some of the more questionable commands.

"Aunt Ellie… can you kiss my forehead? I miss my mom…she used to do that for me when I'm feeling lonely,"

My acting was spot-on. Maybe it was the whole bedridden thing. It made it easier to cry. Easier to sell the helplessness.

Not a moment of hesitation, she got closer and kissed my head.

"Please… do it again,"

I made her do it repeatedly, each command wearing down another mental barrier. Then, with a subtle changed in tone, I made her kissed my cheek.

Until finally, we found ourselves kissing like lovers.

There was a certain thrill in breaking down the defenses of a mature woman, watching her trust twist into something I could shape.

When she pulled away, panting, she looked like she wanted to speak — but I beat her to it.

"Don't worry, Aunty. No one else has to know."

She kissed me again without waiting for any command. I guess Ellie's feelings for me were there all along .

"Aunt Ellie… something's wrong with body. "

She looked down, her attention drawn to the blanket where a bulge had begun to rise.

"It's aching… can you rub it for me?"

Due to her being too deep in trance, her hands reflexively did what I told her to.

She began moving her palm on top of the fabric, rubbing it, as her lips met mine.

It was only when she felt the wet sensation from the fabric that she broke from my skill.

"Oh my god, what am I doing?"

"It's alright, Aunty. You're just trying to help me."

"I'm sorry, Axel. Please… forget we did that. It was my mistake." She took her bag, ready to leave.

"Auntie, please visit me tomorrow….When Samantha's not around."

Her eyes lit up, and softened.

That was close. I got too greedy, and it nearly put me in a tough spot.

But I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy every second of it.

DING!

[Due to your repeated and strategic use of Mind Control on women, the skill has gained a bonus effect when used on the opposite sex.]

[Would you like to accept the effect?]

[Effectiveness against females: +20%]

[Effectiveness against males: -10%]

Interesting… So my skill was evolving — adapting to how I use it.

A twenty percent boost was no joke. But a penalty to using it on men?

Hm. Not that I've needed it much on them anyway.

'Accept'

I did not feel any change at all.

Just as I started to question whether I been scam, the door opened. Claire stepped in.

Lucky. Time to test it on her.
